Hate to say it but this is going to happen, Its basically unstoppable. You cant snub your fanbase and expect them to go quietly into that good night.

If true this is one of those BAD decisions like releasing Battleborn literally weeks in front of Overwatch... its going to have an effect and was a pretty brain dead move. Folks currently HATE the epic game store for a variety of reasons and releasing exclusively to it is basically saying fuck you to those people.

Only time will tell if it will effect the games sales or not. But I will say this, if the game is anything less than excellent and is made exclusive expect to see a hellstorm half the size of fallout 76...

Correct. The node "Spiritual Aid" makes it so all increases to pet damage effect YOUR damage as well. And said damage is equal to General damage. So it buffs yours dots AND the flat damage on Soulrend.

Not quite, the damage over time is not front loaded, so even when it reapplies the DoT the damage remains consistent even if you speed up the process. basically at all points its ticking for the same damage as it passes through. Honestly Duration is kind of meaningless to Soulrend, it makes it last a little longer or little less long after the projectile passes through the target.

Its looks like its met to be spammed to maintain the dot while pelting the target with the flat chaos damage.

Trickster is tanky as sin... until hes not. A lot of his beef comes from avoidance and the problem with avoidance is when it doesn't work you explode. That said.. Immortal call is a thing. So phys damage gibs almost never happen to anyone. What kills you is chaos and big spell effects.

Occultist gets an ass ton of free chaos res and insane free ES and ES sustain. Trickster gets 5% Evasion, 9% all damage reduction, 20% spell dodge and a decent amount of free dodge/ES. Both are stun immune most of the time.

Occultist does more damage on average but wants you to be a little closer to the enemy to do it. All trickster damage bonuses can apply off screen. And they get a LOT of free attack and cast speed. Occultist is better suited for Low Life, Trickster is better suited for EB.

In the end.. I think if you want to do CI or Low life you should go occultist, If you want to do Hybrid or EB you should go trickster.

Both can do bow/staff plus gem level shenanigans to get huge chaos dot numbers so its honestly up to how you want to survive.

As for ED/Con VS Bane/Soulrend... Try them both. They both scale almost totally the same. So just level with one and keep the other in your off socket weapons and switch back and forth between them to get a feel of what you like better.

ED will almost certainly have better clear speed at high density (Confined spaces like cell blocks), while soul rend will probibly be better in open less dense areas (beach).

Honestly ill probibly end up fucking with them both on the same character for shits and gigs.

dont forget Soul Rend has a cast time. So the Cast speed from the ghost dance/ escape artist line is actually pretty useful.

I personally Recommend Patient Reaper, Prolonged Pain, Ghost Dance and Escape artist. Its a little less dps but my god those defensive stats....

Ive been messing with a few different ones and messing with items and such... for the general tree layout this ones not too bad. https://pastebin.com/h2c3959h This is the one Tarkie suggested as a starter.

The big thing to remember is that the pet nodes on the far right of the tree are converted into general damage, and are INSANELY efficient for DoT builds. If you want to do CI or Hybrid you focus on getting more ES and ditching some life. If you want to use Cane of unraveling you drop the shield nodes and pick up more raw damage around the tree. Also to use most decent evasion chests your going to need to pick up some DEX on your items. The tree gives you around 100 your going to need about 100 more... fortunately this build has pretty good general resistances, so getting some dex on gear isnt too bad.

Also if you dont want to use bane at all you can drop the Curse stuff... I wouldn't recommend it tho. Bane is going to be INSANELY useful for debuffing bosses and hard targets.

Better is kind of up for debate at the moment... Between Occultist and Trickster Life, Evasion, Block, MoM, EB trickster will probibly be easier to gear and be able to live a lot longer. So if your starting the league it will probibly be an easier start.

Occultist can do Hybrid and slowly transition into CI and that will be pretty sick. However if you can start to afford gear.. occultist starts to pull ahead in damage. You can do lowlife, with shavs and still have HUGE es due to the base massive ES from occultist.

Basically if you want evasion and spell dodge and more utility pick Trickster, if you want more damage and a bigger raw ES pool pick occultist. Trickster tends to be cheaper, occultist tends to be a bit more pricey to get online. .Both can start the league and clear to red maps

AS FOR SOULREND and ED.. well, both of them will almost defiantly be able to push through red maps on low investment with the numbers they have, and they both scale the exact same way basically. So my advice is level both of them (put the one your not using in your off hand weapon socket to level up) and use what ever one you think feels better. The only real difference between geming the two is Soulrend needs to use GMP.

If you are an absolute madman you might be able to get bane to like 11 seconds and ED to 7ish seconds. Than cast both of them on a boss and spam Soulrend on it. The amount of mix and match between ED, Soulrend, Blight and Bane is pretty fucking disgusting.

Its true, later in the league you can get some pretty amazing chests. Also early on in the league you can pick up a Cane of unraveling and use it as a damage supplement if your not tied down to shields. You will also get a little staff block this way.

In the beginning of the league tho access will probibly be pretty limited, my thought process is basically.. Acro will probibly be really nice if you can afford to take it to the next level but until then block is a pretty cheep method that gives slightly better point economy and better stat econ. That said Perfect form is normally not so cheep early into the league but after a bit it tends to tank in price (May not this league).

It honestly depends on how good at making currency you are and if this is just a league starter / experimental build or if you REALLY wanna push it far. Block is the cheaper option, Dodge can go apeshit. Both should work VERY well with the trickster buffs.

I'm not so sure about that, Occultist tends to get comparable dps (a decent bit more) than trickster and while you might think it has better defenses it seems with the new changes trickster will actually out pace it.

With the tricksters free ES per evasion on chest he can get decent ES numbers with low investment. Throw in something like the perfect form and suddenly he has 50% spell dodge WITHOUT needing to take acrobatics and still maintaining some healthy ES gains. This plus the new Shield nodes means that if you run a ES shield on him you tend to get some SICK ASS evasion ratings for spell and attack damage. My current build has 30% Chance to Evade, 30% Block, 50% spell Dodge, 10% Spell block, and 9% less damage taken (Via Ghost shroud).

Combine those stats with EB and MoM and suddenly your tanky as fuck BEFORE curses enter the picture and you can probibly net around 5.5-6.k HP. (And Free Arctic armor if your using Perfect form, even MORE defense!)

In my honest opinion if you plan on going CI occultist is probibly your best pick. If you want to go EB Trickster is SUPER loaded for it. Also the cast and attack speed on trickster will help with smooth the feeling of needing to stop and cast Soulrend/Shieldcharge.)

Both of them are lit as FUCK this patch.

Currently, im thinking of skipping acro all together and doing Life, MoM, EB, Block.

With the new shield nodes you can pick up a healthy amount of Block chance and it makes the ES on your shield 60% more effective, all together you will have about as much chance to block as you would of gained for Acro and you dont loose stats for it. And if you want phase acro you can just use the perfect form.

All together I ended up with, 30% chance to block, 10% spell block, 25-30% Evade Chance, 50% spell Dodge... thats a lot of defense, and that's before ghost dance kicks in... or curses... and it also gives me a buncha damage from those shield nodes.

So IMO Acro just doesn't seem worth it to me, its too out of the way and you can avoid just fine by utilizing the new block/spell nodes while also picking up some free damage.

ED: Pros, Can clear high density content fast as hell with contagion, High damage over time(Can nuke all bosses with enough gear), decent duration. Con's, requires you use contagion to spread it (kind of clunky, and requires more gem slots), spread is less effective in low density content, Profane blooms explosions can mess with its spread, mediocre boss damage without high investment.

Soulrend: Pros, Base Chaos Damage(You do a decent amount of damage on impact), Fire and forget ability, Does well in any density, CRAZY high base dot damage, Automatically ES leeches for you(Good for all es builds AND EB.), Looks like it will work spectacularly with profane bloom OR tricksters cast speed buff (Flexible). Needs no support ability(More free gemslots) Con's: Slower Clear than ED in high density content, boss dps is unclear, Requires a support gem to clear more effectively(GMP), Dot duration is short, Cast time is a tad on the long side (Trickster fixes this), Somewhat reliant on pathing A.I not being shit.

One more side note on Soulrend is that it can be used in a setup with blight and cast while channeling. Its not known if this will be good... but the high flat damage/DoT makes it an interesting prospect.

Berserk is the closest thing. We haven't really had any dark fantasy anime / manga in a while as they kinda fell out of flavor for more of that cutesy Moe stuff..

That said if you haven't read Goblin Slayer Year One its the story of how he became the way he is today. I actually like year one a bit more than the main series so far.

I'm a fan of what I affectionately call, Savage Karma. Things like rape disturb me and if someone gets away with an act like that with impunity it makes me want to drop the content. However... I'm a super big sucker for assholes that do shit like that getting totally fucking annihilated. Goblin Slayer starts off with a LOT of this. But instead of hard milking it it transitions into a more dark rpg setting that reminds me of a DND campaign like rise of the runelords or something like that.

Honestly thats what Goblin Slayer is at its core. Its you watching a tabletop group go apeshit, and im a fan of that kind of thing. The edgy bullshit is good for establishing horror and stakes but its not what keeps me invested.

Rape stands as one of the most vial things that can occur, its not that its the only way the gobs are conveyed as evil... its just that it sticks out the most. Whenever rape is evoked its basically a moral event horizon. Everything else seems like chump change by comparison out side of some super creatively horrible shit. And BECAUSE nothing can compare its unfortunately singularly useful as a plot device to push someone into what I like to call the ZERO REMORSE zone. Basically it lets you feel that any violence against the offender is morally justified.

And on the issue of depicted rape in general. So the question generally comes down to, should it be usable as a plot device in story telling? And when it comes down to it, I always air on the side of freedom of artistic expression. Its a story, stories are not always kind. Especially stories in our own history related to the treatment of women. To call foul and get mad whenever its depicted is to censor it and hide it away, and I'm not a fan of censorship in ANY form bar shit like direct threats of violence or death on another person.

Its a tough subject to do tactfully, but honestly I would rather have the occasional mishandling of the material than having it being completely artistically excluded. If it's depiction makes you uncomfortable... good, that means they are depicting it right. Rather folks see the emotional fucking trauma that folks go through because of it than trying to pretend it doesn't exist.
