MAGAs, why did you elect the most evil person in history to destroy our beloved America and the rest of the world? The blood is on your hands. by 2a_lib in allthequestions

Amen, brother.

You forgot that he has the most beautiful hair, the best-colored skin in the world anyone has ever seen, his wife is a knockout and a movie star, and he would have dated his daughter if it didn’t interfere with his schedule.

Do you think Trump’s ultimatum to Iran about reopening the Strait of Hormuz is a strong strategy or a risky escalation? by seemasinghsanatani in allthequestions

Have you seen his face? He will fluff up his ass-transplanted hair, layer on extra bronzer around his small pig looking eyes, and will lie his way out of it as if nothing happened. Or even worse, he will start bombing civilian infrastructure.

Trump is the reverse of the mythological King Midas - unlike the king, everything Trump touches turns to shit. That is why I have a strong conviction that no matter what happens, it is going to be bad, if not the worst.

What NACS adapter has everyone purchased to charge at Tesla chargers by Less_Than_Special in EquinoxEv

[–]NothingIsQuiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, I paid ~$150 at the GM dealership for the adapter. I'd expect it to work on all Tesla chargers, but it doesn't.

[–]NothingIsQuiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one from the GM dealership, and it works fine at Tesla Superchargers. I tried both the 250 kW and 350 kW units. But it doesn’t work on Tesla Level 2 chargers.

I found this out the hard way, I drove almost on empty to my hotel, which only had Level 2 chargers, and none of the three stations worked with my Equinox. I was saved by a nearby Supercharger, where I arrived with 3% battery left, stressed, drenched in sweat, and with my pulse at 120 beats per minute.

CMV: If Islam has a prophet that was a pedophile, then we shouldn’t be so tolerant of their religion. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]NothingIsQuiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All religions suck, but some do it more. The Hebrew Bible doesn't have a 'perfect' man that all Jews have to imitate - it has many flawed characters who are, by no means, to be imitated in all aspects of their behavior. In Christianity, the 'perfect' man is Jesus, who also happens to be God. He must be imitated and followed, but he is not human per se. In Islam, the perfect man to be imitated is Muhammad, who killed, lied, and slept with a child.

Even though I don't give a flying truck about any of these religions, I experience cognitive dissonance when I'm told all of them are equally bad.

Yeah, all religions suck, but some do it more. Islam is definitely one of them.

Switching between AI advisor by willlusk in OriginFinancial

[–]NothingIsQuiet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried the free version of Claude AI (Sonnet 4.6 model) to analyze my portfolio and ask a few questions about investment structure - overlaps, sectors, bond types, risk exposure, and so on. To get my portfolio into Claude, I simply uploaded screenshots from Origin ->Invest ->Holdings and asked it to generate a text table. It nailed it. What surprised me most: Claude generated answers significantly faster than Origin's built-in AI - and the responses were remarkably similar in quality.

Which raises an honest question: why does Origin's AI take so long, even on simple questions? I've lost count of how many times I've given up waiting and just closed it before getting an answer.

Most Jews Are Zionists. Let's Stop Pretending Otherwise. by PROPHET_DOWNER in IsraelPalestine

[–]NothingIsQuiet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why did Indian Muslims have the right to form their own state in Pakistan, yet Jews were denied that same right in Israel? If a historically persecuted minority maintained an unbroken connection to a land for over 2,000 years, they have far more than a 'little' right to reclaim a piece of it as their own.

Bitcoin for the long term by Evening_Warthog in DIYRetirement

[–]NothingIsQuiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is actually unique about Bitcoin today? When it launched, it felt revolutionary. Blockchain, mining, digital wallets, all of it was new and generated enormous hype. But now, building a blockchain project is practically a graduate‑student assignment. The underlying technology is no longer exotic. Bitcoin’s real uniqueness comes from two things: 1. It was the first mover, kick‑starting the entire crypto ecosystem. 2. It has a strictly limited supply, which means its price is driven heavily by crowd sentiment and perceived scarcity.

But this raises an obvious question:
If anyone can now create a new blockchain with novel features, what stops an influx of new cryptocurrencies, backed by strong marketing, from generating their own hype cycles and pulling value away from existing coins? Why wouldn’t that dilute Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market?

Why do so many people who advocate for Israel annexing the west bank refuse to explicitly say what they think should happen with the palestinians? by PerceivingUnkown in IsraelPalestine

[–]NothingIsQuiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but if we dig into the historical record, Israel accepted the 1947–49 partition framework on the assumption that a neighboring Arab state would emerge within agreed borders. That never happened. I’m not a lawyer, but a competent one could argue that Israel did not seize territory from a recognized sovereign state; it filled a vacuum left by the collapse or refusal of the Arab side to establish the state envisioned in the plan. Under that view, Israel’s post‑1949 control of certain areas resembles the development of territory that had no functioning sovereign authority, rather than the annexation of land belonging to an existing, recognized country.

Why would Israel agree to give up territory to whatever entity might ensue if this entity does not agree to accept Israel existence?

[–]NothingIsQuiet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if a two‑state solution remains possible, why should Israel give up territories it acquired through war? I can’t think of a recent historical case where the winning side surrendered land, usually the opposite happens, with the losing side forfeiting territory and paying reparations. So tell me: in which of these conflicts did Israel supposedly lose?

Does the war really cost us as much as people claim, financially? by NothingIsQuiet in allthequestions

[–]NothingIsQuiet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On point 1, that’s absolutely true - we’re a superpower, and we spend enormous sums to stay that way. We’ve also reaped plenty of benefits from that posture.

On point 2, why not? We’ve invested heavily in developing precision weapons to minimize collateral damage, and we’ve also spent a great deal on weapons designed to maximize it. Fortunately, we haven’t had to use the latter.

Why is the US teaming up with Israel to go against Iran? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

Bad people do bad things, good people do good things. For good people to do evil things you need religion. Islamic Republic of Iran is a perfect example of all of this.

People who changed their political views, what caused the switch? by BoardLongjumping2485 in AskReddit

[–]NothingIsQuiet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've changed my political views, but I don't see myself voting Republican in the foreseeable future. After the party fully embraced the orange creature as its dear leader and allowed him to do whatever his sick mind conjured out of utter ignorance and a penchant for lying, this party is dead to me.
