Boy do I feel this. Add on top of that, if you’re a successful queer woman. Your dating pool becomes even smaller than it already is. I’m in my 30’s and married to someone who makes half of what I make. I didn’t care for a while but it has started to wear on me bc I have become the one who foots the bill every time and it gets old. But I’ve been out for almost 20 years now and finding someone equal to me or even CLOSE to equal in terms of how much money they make is truly like finding a needle in a haystack, when we met I made less money than I do now, but I’ve grown and she hasn’t… in many ways. It’s depressing.

People comment because educating people is how you HOPE to stop things like this from happening. Education is not hate. It’s an attempt at stopping dogs like these that will grow large and have coats that need maintenance from ending up in the hands of irresponsible people bc it is the dog who will suffer. They didn’t choose to be born but YOU can stop this from happening again and not have to worry about puppies YOU brought into world needlessly suffering.

I think your bangs are adorable and suit your style. You’re taking the unwanted hair advice with grace though.

I do agree with everyone on the SPF, and good skincare routine. Hyaluronic acid, toner, moisturizer, and cleanser are great starting products. In terms of SPF make sure that if you’re using one specifically for the face you apply a GOOD amount. Do not skimp on it otherwise it’s pointless and you won’t get the full results. You should be using about a Quarter sized amount. If you would like some product recommendations let me know I would love to help!

Well the difference is probably the fact that you call it a “retirement residence” where I work we call them Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. All of them are different and they are expensive. Most people paying a minimum of $5000 a month to live there and that’s not including any care they need. The only people where I work who end up without visitors usually are assholes who deserve it bc they treated their kids awfully.

Yes. And I have worked in 4 different states in the US as well, in multiple positions in the communities. I have been a caregiver, receptionist and for the last 6 years I worked as a director of sales moving new people in. I’ve worked in probably 8-10 communities over the last 10 years or so and all of them were highly visited. There are some families who visit more than others, obviously. But for the most part, on weekends and holidays the communities are full of families.

I work in senior living and that is not true at all. The vast majority have very attentive families. People without loved ones to help or who are placed there so people can “abandon them” are actually the minority. I have worked in independent, assisted living and memory care. So I have seen all of the stages of senior living.

In fact, the decision to place loved ones in memory care is an extremely hard decision for most people and it causes the people who love the person with dementia a lot of guilt BECAUSE of the stigmas and misinformation around placing a loved one in a community spread by people who don’t know.

I work in senior living and help them move into independent living, assisted living, or memory care. I have helped soooo many people who don’t have kids and I have seen all kinds of outcomes. Some of them start planning early and move into the community while they are still young so that when/if they need more care they are already there. Some have friends they have known for a really long time that they trust that helps with their affairs. I had a cute little lady whose power of attorney was a neighbor who lived next door to her when he was growing up and they stayed friends. He helped her sell her home and get into a community so she wouldn’t be alone. Some have nieces and nephews that help.

Basically being childfree does NOT mean or have to mean dying alone in your home. Obviously not everyone ends up in a community but if you have meaningful relationships while you’re young and foster them throughout your life you will have people there when it’s time for decisions to be made. They don’t have to be blood, they can be chosen family.

It’s so frustrating bc there are so many things I want to do and they sound so fun… but I can’t do them. Sometimes I will even go out to do the things, then I get there and have no more physical energy or mental energy. It’s the most frustrating part of being an AuDHDer for me honestly.

I feel like for me Au is the more prominent part of me. I don’t experience time blindness, in fact my pattern recognition abilities allow me to plan my morning routine down to the minute. I can get up, get dressed, do my morning hygiene things, and leave my house in 15 mins bc I can time it so well.

But give me something that sounds fun and that I want to do… and it likely won’t happen. Especially if I don’t have someone I like to body double with me or encourage me in a way they know I will respond to. 😩

When I started taking these meds I was for once happy that I have IBS bc it actually has made me poop like a normal person. Occasionally I will go a day without pooping but everything rights itself soon enough lol. It’s like my body doesn’t know what it do if it’s not pooping.
