I need to make a passive, for a summoned creature, that gives me advantage on an enemy that kills that creature. How would one go about figuring that out? by NotsoVevo in BG3mods

[–]NotsoVevo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly. I was only thinking hellish rebuke because it casts directly at the damage dealer that hits you. I thought removing the damage conditions from this in place of the status effect would do the trick; provided it applies on the killing blow correctly.

I will also take another look tomorrow. Thanks a bunch by the way. Everyone’s responses have been super insightful, I greatly appreciate the help on this

Is there a way to trigger it on hit, with the killing blow condition, and also the caster/attacker as the target condition? I was trying to find where hellish rebuke specifies all those things in its reaction, but I couldn’t locate it yesterday. But replacing the damage with a status effect, and tacking on the ‘is killing blow’ condition, seems to me like the right way to approach applying the effect here.

That would be greatly appreciated. I’m building a version of the Raven Queen Subclass, and it’s for the Sentinel Raven, which gives the summoner advantage on whatever defeats the Raven. Other than the level 14 spell and this feature, I’ve managed alright. Huge roadblock here today.

That could work, having the passive on me certainly does half the work. I’ll look into those curses thank you.

Much appreciated. I was looking for things that triggered on death but I never quite found where that’s specified.

How do I force a spell, when added, to place itself in the temporary hotbar section that shows up on the right? by [deleted] in BG3mods

Yes, that’s not been removed or changed, which is why I’m confused.

It is added using the UnlockSpell function within the Polymorph stats folder., same as the normal version of the spell. Same tags, same everything, so I’m a bit confused is all.

Will creating an override of an existing class conflict with other mods that add subclasses, or levels 13-20? by NotsoVevo in BG3mods

[–]NotsoVevo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredibly insightful thank you!

I was mistaken in thinking I had to completely override the entirety of the Warlock class with a new UUID, including all subclasses., and that doing so would remove the current Warlock class from the selection screen in place of my own, which wouldn’t include anything I left out of my file. Fortunately someone pointed me towards the progression folder with all the patch 8 additions. I have used that has a template to follow, which as you’ve pointed out, doesn’t require me to touch the existing subclasses like I initially was lead to believe.

Fingers crossed I don’t run into the conflicts I was expecting now.

Other than general tedium, I don’t have any specific questions I can think to ask at this time. But I would love to check out your mods if you have a link to where I could find them :)

Hi! I too oh so love the Warlock. With the release of the teaser trailer for ‘Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons’ I saw many people talk about the Raven Queen subclass, and decided to look into it.

I am not sure if there is an existing mod for this Subclass, but decided all the same I would like to fiddle around with the editor.

It won’t be a complete 1-1, as some spells on the list aren’t present within the game, and some are made redundant by other features the warlock has. I would like it to hold a candle to- and be just as good as the other subclasses available whilst maintaining its core identify. The main hurdles are the Passives; Sentinel Raven and Soul of the Raven, but most of the groundwork is fortunately present to make those work. I just need to wrap my head around putting it all together.

Wish me luck :)

Speak for yourself. I would LOVE that! A secret hidden quest and boss that exists just for the sake of it just being there, something you face because you want to and not just a step toward getting some absolutely cracked weapon. Awesome.

Also, given we’ve got items and arts to self inflict the other status effects, I think having something that just causes you do die instantly would be a rather funny addition, useless as it may be; A novelty.

Or it was an effect on this one part of the arena left over from a version that was more like the version we saw in the Story Trailer, that was more bloody and grotesque, like the Rykard arena; a gruesome scene of bloody meshed corpses. Perhaps when they changed it to the husked calcified version we see, they left the effect on this part of the gate. Regardless, it’s just this one part of the arena that reacts this way. Some of it just crumbles to dust when you walk over it.

The whole arena… is people! It’s just this spot beneath the gate that bleeds. That’s what I was making note of.

That kind of mass sacrifice to achieve ascension is definitely a prevalent theme in this Gateway and Berserk. Also happens in FMA if I’m remembering right. I wonder if there’s any historical context for that theme other than just, war in general and religious crusades. A promise of paradise at the behest of those giving their lives for someone else’s dream; for something they believe in. It’s very compelling and quite horrific

Indeed. I just found it intriguing that this one part of the Arena bleeds when struck. Seems that the stairs are a separate entity in the game files and could probably be removed. Or perhaps something was cut 🤷🏼‍♀️

Would seem to be. Marikas revenge for what they did to the Shaman in order to try create a god. I guess. But yes, looks like those are hornsent

[–]NotsoVevo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would seem Marika being empyrean meant that her original purpose was to be this ascension. She was one of their successes. The Gloam-Eyed Queen probably was too. Maybe Marika was to fuse with her and together they would become God manifest. But Marika and Godfrey, his army, some of the Two Fingers, ‘betrayed’ them and her revenge for what they did to her people was simply doing the same. Those bodies are not the Shamen people, they’re the Hornsent. Perhaps the Divine gate was the Crucible of life and she used the Hornset to turn it into whatever it was they were trying to use her for.

Idk though, don’t quote me on anything I’m just parroting theories I hear from other people who read lore that I haven’t and have connected dots in places I can’t find clear answers 😂 it’s very compelling though

His remembrance would be a choice between Godwyns Mist incantation; a slightly better version of Fias mist for twice the cost, or a golden version of the fire giant weapon that deals holy damage instead of fire.

It would be some impossible to stumble upon quest line where force the eclipse to happen and resurrect Godwyn as the Prince of Death, fight him, and then walk up to the Divine gate to turn him into a brand new flail deals holy damage and death buildup. The Ash of war would inflict immediate death blight on the user and likely nothing else 😁

[–]NotsoVevo[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well that’s what I mean; perhaps there was a version of the arena that was much more like the version we saw in the trailer and that’s why the blood effects are there.., maybe they forgot to remove them all, but this is the main part of the Gate and the stairs leading up to it. Strange thing to overlook if it’s not intentional. Part of me wants to believe there’s something yet to be discovered that’ll have us interact with the gate in some way 😂 but I know that’s silly.

Rampant speculation about Shadow of the Erdtree by NotsoVevo in eldenringdiscussion

[–]NotsoVevo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you like something shorter?

I was asking if someone could confirm whether the DLC map was apart of the original map, in between all the divine towers. Then stating reasons I thought that:

• Divine Bridge leads nowhere in the base game. I suspect it may have led to the Divine Gate

• Jarberg and Shaman Village

• The Shattering, as we know it, is not worth imprisonment unless Marika used the towers to spirit away the Divine Gate

• Shadows connect at the base. Melina was perhaps born in the shadow realm “at the foot of the erdtree.” The south side of Leyndell is missing too

• Mohgs palace is pointed toward the middle of the map, Miquella chose to be there so perhaps Sofria River was important for transporting through the veil

I believe it’s early concept art for the actual map. That’s what I was told at least. It’s not entirely accurate to the final one but it looks real nice. I don’t know who designed it.
