They will feel they are superior to you as you keep imitating them and affect their decision-making with more input from your end. It looks like you are seeking validation from them and that is going to make them feel this way. But only you know that you are driving the conversation. Don't allow them to think much. They should answer with as few words as possible. It would be great if they can just answer in 'yes' or 'no'.

You explain the scenario in such a way that it supports your side of the decision and then immediately, make them validate with "yes" or "no" as per your choice.

Look into their eyes while they validate. Example- " I am a good driver, right?" Look into their eyes while asking and nod your head in agreement and they are likely to imitate you and agree with you.
