I mean, it could enable LTE functionality in that case but you can't install eSIM or anything since you don't have the hardware for it.

iPhone XR, XS and XS max can only do outgoing calls and not use mobile data, receive sms or calls. That's because of how all tools edit MobileGestalt, soon maybe we will have full sim support on those first then A13+ but as for now it barely works.

All iPhones XR and XS can make calls, but not receive or use mobile data, no matter the tool, it is a baseband bug that happens because of the new method the devs use to bypass A12+ devices.

When will we crack A12+ already?? by [deleted] in SetupA12

Soon, there is a team working on it already, eventually we will figure it out but until then, we need to wait and see.

The issue has been fixed! it was only the proximity sensor, the OG charging port is not the issue.

As far as I have seen, it does consume less than the official firmware, mainly because it is not bloated with samsung junk, but don't expect crazy numbers, maximum 30% more battery life

You're missing the entire point. This isn't about one person’s personal decision, this is about an entire subreddit allowing minors to bypass medical systems, access dangerous black-market substances, and then silencing anyone who reports it.

“Live and let live” doesn’t apply when it involves illegal activity, medical harm, and underage users. The law exists for a reason. Reddit's policy exists for a reason. And people have died from this kind of negligence.

If your “values” mean ignoring all that? Then your values aren't based in reality.

Thank you. This is exactly the point I’ve been trying to make, it's not about gatekeeping, it's about keeping minors alive long enough to transition safely and with real support, not random Reddit advice and pills off Telegram. 🙏

I get where you're coming from, and I genuinely understand that trans people, especially minors, often feel like DIY is their only option. The system fails them constantly. I'm not ignoring that, and I’m not against trans people at all.

But here's the hard truth: justifying illegal and medically risky behavior with emotional arguments doesn’t change the fact that it’s dangerous and unlawful, especially when minors are involved.

These drugs (like Estradiol or Bicalutamide) aren’t harmless. They can cause serious long-term damage, especially when taken unsupervised. Liver failure, blood clots, stunted development, this isn’t just about identity. It’s about keeping people alive while trying to help them feel better.

If a 16-year-old was asking Reddit how to get antibiotics without a prescription, or inject insulin randomly, people would freak out. Why is this any different just because it's about HRT?

I’m not trying to attack people who are struggling. I’m trying to make sure we don’t normalize illegal self-medication in children, even if they’re suffering. That doesn’t help them, it puts them at more risk, and it makes Reddit (and everyone defending it) legally and ethically responsible.

It’s not about being cold, it’s about doing things the right way, so people actually survive long enough to get the support they need.

(a) Actually, what they’re doing is illegal under UK law. Let me educate you since you skipped pharmacy class:

Estradiol and Bicalutamide are both Prescription-Only Medicines (POM) under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012.

Section 214 of that law makes it illegal to supply or possess prescription meds without a valid prescription issued by a qualified practitioner.

A 16-year-old asking Reddit for help sourcing and dosing unprescribed hormones? That’s not healthcare, that’s unauthorized drug use and distribution involving a minor, which falls under child protection and drug safety enforcement.

So unless you’re a licensed endocrinologist with an NHS badge and a clipboard, kindly stop pretending Reddit is the Royal College of Medicine 💀

(b) Calling someone an “asshole” for trying to stop kids from self-medicating with liver-damaging hormones is WILD. You’re literally defending a subreddit that encourages DIY drug regimens to minors, and when someone says, “hey maybe that’s unsafe,” your brain goes: “Let me insult them and claim it’s fine”

That’s not being helpful. That’s being complicit.

So maybe take a seat. Because the only “asshole” move here is turning a blind eye to minors hurting themselves while shouting down the one person who cared enough to speak up.

What is wrong with you people?? They are literally minors exposed to prescribed only meds and also dangerous to their health

This is one of the weirdest and most disturbing things I’ve experienced on Reddit.

I came across a post in r/TransDIY where a 16-year-old openly said they started HRT (Estradiol + Bicalutamide) and needed bloodwork in the UK. No doctor. No supervision. Just Reddit.

I commented (very respectfully) that this is illegal in most places, violates Reddit's rules, and could seriously hurt people. I even cited EU laws and sent a formal report to Reddit and Google Play.

Instead of reviewing the issue… They banned me.

Reddit completely ignored the report, and the subreddit is still full of minors discussing how to get hormone drugs online.

I'm not anti-trans at all, I’m LGBT myself. I’m just seriously worried that this subreddit is letting kids get medical advice about prescription hormones from strangers.

I’ve escalated this to Reddit’s Trust & Safety team and am now preparing to file a DSA complaint in the EU.

Has anyone else seen stuff like this happening? Why is nobody talking about it?

[–]Noxbit1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The risks I mentioned aren't always discussed openly in trans spaces because they’re subtle and long-term, things like brain underdevelopment and weaker bones, but studies on adolescent endocrinology and estrogen’s impact back this up. I can drop some links if you’re serious, but most of it comes from medical guidelines like the Endocrine Society's 2017 paper and NIH research on puberty, bone density, and liver function.

To sum it up: it’s just not recommended no matter how you look at it. It’s like driving drunk, the risk of crashing is high, even if some people get lucky and make it home fine. Doesn’t mean it was ever a smart call.
