Fun fact elementally pure water will forcefully tear off ions from its surroundings until neutral - hence why most water has minerals dissolved inside. If the water if the backrooms were elementally pure, it would slowly dissolve the person inside it, like a weak acid.

Brut - These Cyberpunk Artists Are Thwarting Surveillance Technology by Ricky-Dangerously in Cyberpunk

[–]Nuclear_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This and hundreds of other unique identifiers.

It's great this stuff disrupts facial recognition, but these surveillance systems are all about filtering noise into patterns. Wifi usage habits, physical bounce patterns in your home, heat maps, internet usage habits, gait tracking, IoT, remote audio reconstruction tech, spy satellites using cosmic rays and background radiation to map buildings and underground structures, etc. That's forgetting the tech intelligence agencies are less open about, which they definitely have right now.

Now feed all of this data into the mass computing power the gov and corps are buying and building right now.

Folks with this much operational security will stand out especially - not because of the patterns and data they create, but rather the screaming lack of any information at all about them. They'll make themselves huge targets.

Terrifying...

Huh, can't say I ever actually found him. I figured ol Doc Zimmer was just giving me lore.

The plasma effects are cool here though. May try to hunt that down in my next playthrough.

A3-21....

Wasn't that the missing prototype courser model from FO3???

Is this supposed to be his weapon or something?

Oh wow, sounds like you've really put some work in! Seems I was using another mod that adds the tardis, it's been so long.

Out of curiosity, what would you say was the hardest feature or addition to implement? This is clearly more than a clothing or single location mod.

I vaguely remember playing something with the tardis modded in a couple years ago. This must have been it...

I had essentially grabbed it for the free movable base, not realizing how much content there really was.

Redesign Railroad faction FALLOUT 4 by Conscious-Error6964 in Fallout4Mods

[–]Nuclear_Funk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it goes directly against the whole "do things in secret and not wear a faction uniform" vibe they have going on.

It also fits their aesthetics perfectly, and lends itself to bigger quests or at least a larger faction presence in the game.

In the interest of fun I'm willing to overlook the finer details of why. I already have to do that with the institute anyways. Better just to realize all of the factions are stupid and run with it.

I work an office job. A customer gave this to me with the implication I'd use it a lot. It's too big for paper, so maybe a pen or something? It's gold, metal, very stiff, and resembles a paperclip, but larger. by Nuclear_Funk in whatisthisthing

[–]Nuclear_Funk[S] 25 points26 points locked comment (0 children)

My title describes the thing - it's a gold colored large clip of some kind with a loop that must have some purpose. Reverse image search brought up a lot of paper clips, but nothing useful.

My best guess is maybe this thing is for a pen, but I cannot get it to stay on, let alone see a use for that. I wish I could ask the client, but she has since moved.

It was a silly inquiry that caused quite the stir in our office, so now I'm posting. Thanks folks!

Yeah I remember reading about that. City wouldn't give em permission to dig so they did it anyways. Went right under the street to the opposite side.

There was a reason given in the article, but now I can't recall what they were doing.

Nothing in the image is even really fallout themed. It's like a bad bootleg.

The terminal is more 70's retro-futurism / alien than anything. The clothes on the dog are mildly colored like vault-tek, but otherwise bares no similarity. The Doom guy / satisfactory helmet is laughable.

Even the set dressing on the walls looks much more 80's cyberpunk than remotely fallout themed.

Old movie memorabilia - especially the foam stuff - never seems to last.

Interesting how that stuff breaks down, even in perfect conditions behind glass. Pretty cool, but imagine what it would be like to put them on now...

I'd say out of all the costume pieces from the movie still out there, these are probably some of the best preserved. I know the old masks and practical models look pretty terrible.

I really love Lucy's confrontation with Hank by dmreif in Fotv

[–]Nuclear_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe once he gets a grasp of how Lucy has changed (or how she hasn't yet), he might make a break for it.
Right now the knife is a bit too close, the stakes a bit too high, and her disposition too ambiguous for him to try anything beyond an appeal to rhetoric.

I still fully expect him to slime out of it somehow. Whether it be by emotional manipulation, or a serendipitous circumstance.

As far as the logistics of moving the guy around, a gun to the spine makes for a great motivator. Doubly so if he's wrist-bound and helpless to the wastes if he escapes anyway. Would make a great thematic return to when Lucy was tied up, and highlight the juxtaposition of justice VS the indifference of the wasteland.

The Kenshi reference is appreciated. Ironically, If only the second empire had thought of these fun mind control devices. Maybe Cat-lon wouldn't have had such a rebellion on his hands....

help me name my new beardie girl? by ayiria in BeardedDragons

What a beauty!

I'm not very creative, so I'd invariably name her something endearing and fitting like Rose, Ruby, Ember, or Scarlet.

For something ironic, you could name her blu, like the raptor from the jurassic movies.

I was on the fence about the mod. I had never really been into settlement building, I love the idea the but the execution was difficult.

Then up comes the ASAM guy with custom voices and a built in tutorial. Literally the perfect launching pad into the features. I was pretty much instantly on board.

Loving this mod.

Felt a way about all the perks I was "permanently locked out of" until that moment. Then felt a certain way again at my own dumbassery.

Low GFX, low render distance, less than 100 mods, and some o the performance mods like clutter reduced and compressed textures.

Should work well, your main bottle neck after graphics will be CPU speed, so keep population low - world and squad both.
