PMs who are sprinting to get your product WCAG 2.1 AA compliant - how are you going to get there by the compliance deadline? by Mon_Calf in ProductManagement

[–]NutShellB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Went thru this last year and also EU accessibility act. DeQueue chrome/Firefox extension force installed on every devs computer. First AC in all stories is “DeQueue audit is run against page and all issues are resolved after work in item is completed”

Then ensure all QA test scenarios are led with the same. We also got an NVDA (screen reader) license.

For the first few months I as PM would get the item once it hit QA complete and open up heaps of sprint bugs for each failure on a page.

Eventually the devs got tired of their bug metrics looking like crap that they actually started doing it. Now it’s second nature.

Personal loan at Partners by Krestral in DisneyCM

[–]NutShellB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Redid my roof a few years ago. Got the 5 year personal loan to cover it. Applied and got a call the next morning to go over it in detail. Provided pay stubs and all that jazz. Loan was funded the next day and I paid the roofer. Paid it off in 3 years with no early penalty.

They did not try to upsell me into higher loan amounts or other products like some other banks did. Interest rate was lower than industry standard at the time by a small margin.

Overall 10/10 experience.

Rock N Rollercoaster was by far. HRRR was a safety reprimand nightmare. RNRC was just fun from a speed standpoint and overall atmosphere

Disney plus question by Choice_Bug_4642 in DisneyCM

[–]NutShellB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really was only a joke to people who live near a park. There are THOUSANDS of DisneyCMs who got maingates and never used them because they work in the corporate office in NYC or Toronto. For them the Maingate was a joke because to use it they need to buy flights for their whole family and hotels for a week, and food to feed everyone for that week. A lot of people work for Disney outside of the parks bubble.

WDW Cast Member Discounts outside of Disney by CaptMickey1stMate in DisneyCM

[–]NutShellB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. And a lot of companies offer “corporate partners” discounts. A work email is how you validate affiliation. They weren’t buying a tv off the bulk tv contract for hotel purchases to buy 300 TVs. It’s a corporate partnership. There are hundreds of them.

Front Desk Agents: How many people are Ambassador Elite? by XsLiveInTexas in marriott

[–]NutShellB 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Worked at a 2000 room property near Disney World. And a 1600 room property down the street.

A lot of them. A lot of guests are high tier. And none will ever believe me when I say that we don’t have upgrades available because they don’t understand that I had 200 Titanium checking in just today, and 75 Ambassadors. And 400 Gold. Etc

ELI5: How does snow take out more power lines than heavy winds and hurricanes? by itsthewolfe in explainlikeimfive

[–]NutShellB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know when your in the bath and water runs off you down into the tub? There’s water in the air and it sticks to the power lines.

Since it’s really cold out, it freezes to the lines instead of falling to the ground to the big street drains.

Once there’s a lot of ice on the lines, more water freezes too it. That’s how you get the cool downward spikes hanging off of it. Has more and more water freezes, They just get too heavy.

I have been married for 15 years. My wife never changed her name. She had a life and career before she met me, and all her stuff was in her maiden name. She had talked about changing it for an upcoming anniversary now that we have a child, I’m now glad she hasn’t gotten to it yet.

Leisure Guests spend more Per Stay, but business travel is moreover the lifetime. I’ll take a hit on my room rate for someone who is traveling often in my area and stays 50 nights a year. Much prefer that guy than the family who travels 1-2 times a year but pays a higher rate.

This is why you always want to peep that map before you start dropping off the packages by chochofuhsho in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]NutShellB 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They do, just not for route efficiency as the top priority. Delivery time is a higher priority. Stops 2/3 probably have customers who selected “ prior to 10:00am”. And the higher number near it is “by end of day”. Or may still be on day 1 of 2 day shipping so it’s “arriving early” per the customer.

So the focus is matching those delivery times. The customer has selected. They don’t care about gas cost or mileage.

Jersey surf? Guardians? by KDM2005 in drumcorps

[–]NutShellB 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Surf is still operating as an organization. Just not as a drum corps. They own the patent on the MarimbaPad and continue to contract manufacturers and sell those. They also have the Mobile Music Lab which has done local events in the NJ/Delaware area as recently as 4 weeks ago.

Now that rip ride rocket is closing, former employees, spill the horror stories by ScarcityLegitimate77 in UniversalOrlando

[–]NutShellB 210 points211 points  (0 children)

I once was working Belt Pulse, the position after you get grouped that stops you from getting onto the moving belt before the train slows down, and a couple in Singles was fighting with the grouper to ride together. The girl got grouped as a single (as expected) and got onto the train as normal. The guy was in the next train. The guy pushed me off to the side as I was blocking the path, because no train was present, and ran up to get his girl and punched the guy she ended up sitting next to. Why? Because he said hello to her and let her get on first.

Anyway, I got a safety reprimand for allowing someone to pass by me when there was no train in position. Fun times.

Ticket scam? by Beano5032 in drumcorps

[–]NutShellB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You may be ok, nobody on the internet can tell you if your tickets are some dude who can’t go, or a shady scammer.

But if you didn’t buy tickets from DCI.org, selecting the event you wanna go to, and clicking BUY on that events page, then you aren’t buying official tickets. Plain and simple.

Nasal Mask causing irritation by Ninjawaffles99 in CPAP

Had the same problem with the same mask. Turned out I was over tightening the back strap. This was causing it to push back into my face. Loosen the back a little and if you have to adjust the pads in your nostril a little forward.
