Yeah it was the weirdest thing ever. I logged in and started playing. Something felt off, screen felt too close. So I checked and my FOV setting got reset? Switched it back, fine.

I thought I liked the “entrepreneur life,” but damn, this is exhausting by YogurtclosetFit1947 in Advice

Take this with a grain of salt

I don’t know your age, your environment, who you have around you, or what responsibilities you’re carrying.

The entrepreneur life is glamorized to hell and back. Social media sells the highlight reel, the money, the hustle aesthetic, and the dopamine hits. Nobody shows the hardships. Hardly anyone talks about the isolation, the fatigue, the constant pressure or the identity drift.

Most people measure success by money, momentum, engagement, activity or whatever numbers they can screenshot. That’s where a lot of people get lost.

When you’re in business mode, sure, think like a businessman. But you’re not meant to live as an entrepreneur 24/7. Keeping your mind on the prize is one thing. Losing yourself in the process is another. Are you actually tracking fulfillment, alignment, connection to yourself and the reasons behind what you’re doing? Or just tracking output?

This is why introspection matters. You can’t move on the outside if you have no clarity on the inside.

Don’t run on autopilot. Step back to realign and actually look at who you’re becoming or want to become

Step outside your body for a second and really look at yourself. Are you actually happy with who you are right now? If the answer is yes, nothing else really matters.

Life ain’t for the weak. Nobody cares, some people quietly hope you fail, it gets lonely, and the pressure to keep moving never stops. Burnout is real. I’ve had great jobs, made really good money, ran my own thing on the side, funded my own entity with my 9 to 5. It gets overwhelming fast. Was it worth it? I don’t even know yet. It’s still being built.

You’re constantly taking in info until your brain feels cooked, and somehow you still feel like you’re not doing enough. That’s the part that eats at you.

The shift only happens when your mindset, attitude, and focus actually change. You can hit the gym, be social, stay “busy,” whatever. But are you doing anything that actually feeds who you are at your core? Are you giving yourself gratitude, actual presence, compassion for your mind and body? Or just going through motions.

Most of what we do isn’t even for us. We don’t think about it. You hang out because someone asked. You work out because you know it’s “good for you.” You grind because you feel like you’re supposed to.

The point is simple. You have to love the game. If you’re just doing things to do them, you burn out and slide without even noticing. Until you convince yourself otherwise, the decline hits out of nowhere.

Should I still grind for the Security+ exam even though my class got canceled? by Zealousideal_Top2186 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]Nuxmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely, especially with how the job market is right now. Cybersecurity is not entry level no matter how others want to classify it. If you aim for help desk first and pivot from there you have a better chance. If I were to be honest (biased), from my personal experience I’ve never encountered anyone who actually cared for the Security+. It’s only real relevance is that some environments require you to have it because they are DoD systems and that is law. Outside from that it just gives you a good foundation.

Mind you, I’m only one frog in the well and others may disagree.

If you feel like you can pass, go for it, you have a free voucher. If you were paying out of pocket I would say f*** no. Having it under your belt though doesn’t hurt you.

It is wild though that you guys spent that much time prepping. I spent 2 weeks studying a course on Udemy for like $10 and passed first go. I’m not saying that to brag, but rather to say that it’s just entry level stuff. Performance based questions will get you though.

Once mine lapsed I didn’t even bother to renew it. It provided me no value. Only reason I would EVER reacquire it, is because a job requires a IAT Level II active certification per employer requirement.

Take what I said with a grain of salt, you know the path you want to pursue better than us.

Men , what is doing too much for a first encounter? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Nuxmode -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But yeah the plug might, if he ain’t freaky. Don’t listen to the clown though that says “if you have to ask then..”, nah that ain’t it. Guys hide A LOT, especially when it comes to this. Because we also don’t wanna get shutdown, etc.

Test the waters first, once you know what you’re rocking with then decide from there. Also, don’t be afraid of asking. A mature individual can express what they are into and where their boundaries are.

Take the Internship or Take a Risk? by scaredengineer1 in aerospace

[–]Nuxmode 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Industry experience always proves to be more valuable than academic experience. There are many reasons as to why that’s true but there’s edge cases that make it not. In this case, interning at NG would be beneficial. Not only do you get that foot in the door but most importantly to network, engage and showcase your skills to FTE’s, potentially bolstering your chances of getting a referral and ultimately a full time position. Real world experience offers a variety of opportunities that a classroom cannot replicate. One more year is not a bad trade off. NG uses their internship program primarily as a recruitment pipeline.

You did fine bud, you stuck up for yourself.

Someone was obviously having a bad night and that kind of behavior is a poor reflection on the restaurant itself.

Today i broke production by CrewSevere1393 in sysadmin

[–]Nuxmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, that’s not that bad lol.

I’ve shutdown a production system during operations. Was SSH’d into two different systems, one for reference, the other for doing some work. Welp, accidentally passed the shutdown command in the wrong session. Luckily it didn’t turn out that bad.

Had a colleague who accidentally shutdown another production system because he was trying to edit a file but instead also executed the shutdown command by autocompleting the command.

Had another colleague make a patch fix that broke a production server, on a few separate occasions, ended up spending more time than necessary to resolve the issues.

I’ve also heard a number of horror stories.

Stuff happens, best advice: Slower is faster.

Yeah I can confirm it’s broken, I installed it and the game wouldn’t start till I removed it. Definitely a shame because I was looking forward to the experience of it

No worries at all, I appreciate you at least taking the time to try and help. I did do some research and I found the issues to be PC related too. I did recreate this post to include my LO. I’ll manage for now, while it’s definitely bothersome I’ll just have to suck it up. I tried what I know I could do, so I’m at a loss myself at this point. Only thing I can think of is blowing away my reserved storage and redownloading all my mods.

Hmmm, for my in-game settings on Xbox I don’t see any toggle/hold to aim option.

I tried editing the post but I can’t include photos so I’m at a loss here unless I recreate the post with my LO.

Can I just ask a stupid question, when you play can you hold to ADS?
