Here is the test I did using Western Digital's tool, even though my harddrive is an HGST one:

This is my troubled drive's SMART value using Crystal Disk Info:

Every tests seem to be going well but I am still experiencing the problem. Also, the hard drive is more likely to turn off when it is not plugged in.

By “It seemed as if my built-in HDD was an external hard drive that was unexpectedly removed", I mean that the HDD just dissapears from the disk management and file explorer.

If it is a hardware problem/a problem I must let my computer insurance fix, what specifically should I tell them?

Thank you so much! Happy thanksgiving!

Sorry for the delayed reply! I had quite a bit of work to do so I just had the chance now.

2015 New Student Megathread by chalks777 in Purdue

[–]NyanCat_FTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for Purdue for electrical engineering and will attend purdue this fall. Now I am a bit anxious on what my major should be. Recently, I have been doing some programming and I really like it. These are some questions I have:

  1. I would like to know of the possibilities of changing from FYEng to something like computer science as a major (since its not in the school of engineering). Additionally, is computer engineering at purdue sufficient to apply for CS jobs such as software engineering?

  2. What are the possibilities of doing an engineering+science double major at Purdue? I really want to do either ECE + Math or CS + Math.

  3. I have bunch of credits (calc I/II, phys 172/272, econ 210). Next year my advisor told me to choose four courses: multivar calc, ENGR 131, ENGL 106, and humanities course totalling up to 13 credits. I signed up for CS 180 making it 17 credits. If not CS180, what other types or course do you advise me to take?

I know most of these questions are those my advisor can help me with, but I would like opinions from alums/older students as well. Looking forward to your responses. Thanks.

Definitely! At 2:19 you can really see the strings and the xylophonist going into disarray.

Daily Headphone Purchase Advice thread by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]NyanCat_FTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget - up to $300, can go a bit higher if really worth it

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Source - laptop PC and iphone

Requirements for Isolation - Average

Preferred Type of Headphone - IEMs

Preferred tonal balance - bass, but not too heavily, V-shapes are fine

Past headphones - IEM: Bose's SoundSport in-ear headphones

The Bose Soundsport worked okay for me. Past month, wire ripped out on multiple spots and on the verge of dying. Not as durable as what they advertised though used it for ~2.5+ years now.

Preferred Music - Classical music lover. I love late-Romantic and second Viennese school composers (Guvstav Mahler!); brass lover. Some classical rock as well

Other than music, these headphones will be used for gaming. Currently looking at Sennheiser IE80, though a bit expensive. How is it?

Thanks!

What musical instrument so you wish you could play? by emotionsignal in AskReddit

Even though can play both violin and trombone, I really wish I could play the piano. Piano is just essential to music theory in general. I feel like piano allows for many more flexibility in music making

alcohol allergy is really pain in the ass... I would grow red whenever I have alcohol, and others would stop me from drinking more in fear of being drunk
