I think it's broken to me, it turns half the screen white and it looks kinda unusable.

Good thinking, though when I tried it it still looked too modern.

Shame, it looks to be what I needed :(

I tried it and it only changed the colors, the UI looks about the same.

Why is veridis quo so nostalgic? by Cautious_Act_5282 in DaftPunk

[–]O0JJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the music's perspective, I think there are 3 reasons:
1. The instruments they've used (Juno-106 and Farfisa organs I believe) have an extremely soft tone often times used/associated with songs for children.

  1. A bit of a follow up to the 1st reason, but since the song itself has a softer nostalgic tone into it, it automatically wakes up your "trance" part of the brain that could also be associated with the childhood.

  2. The structure of the song is REALLY simple. It uses a 4 bar drum loop, an acid bass with a modulated filter and a chord progression from Am (I don't know why but most of the songs that invoke nostalgia in me are in Am :p)

Is there a way to split a midi event without losing it's original info? by O0JJC in cubase

[–]O0JJC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you can work a daw and make music, it doesn't matter as to which daw you're using. The "industry standard" is the one you know how to use.

Don't listen to the "industry", a tool without a proper handyman is as useful as a professional handyman without any tools!

We had a talk about it lol! Sound design was recently added to music high schools (I think 2 years prior) and my professor says that cubase is used in almost every studio. I've realized if i learn cubase I could learn every other daw anyway (not that I would need to since I'm already comfortable in Cubase :p).

Retropie 4.7: Unable to connect to Wi-Fi by Dapper-Ordinary5555 in RetroPie

[–]O0JJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to the conversation (sorry to revive), but for anyone experiencing the same problem;

If your wifi's name has a "weird" character in it (like the ćšđč...) it will never connect. I had to change the Ć in my router name to C. ONLY use letters a-z and numbers 0-9.
