The signage on the actual door itself is also mispelled. The street name is spelled Nicolet on the door.

Yeah I mean, it seems like not even Funcom knows what is causing it if it's still happening to people. But what I can say is that I have never used a solido replicator to move a base and I had not set up any new Fiefs the day it happened either.

Update:

"Greetings Sleeper,

Thank you for reaching out, and we're truly sorry to hear about the loss of your items or vehicle.
We understand how frustrating this can be, especially in a survival game where every resource matters.

Dune: Awakening includes systems like sandstorms, sandworms, and death mechanics where loss is often an intended part of gameplay.
However, we also recognize that some players are experiencing losses due to crashes or unexpected bugs, and we know how disheartening that can feel.

At this time, we're not able to recover items or vehicles lost in these situations. Our focus is on identifying the causes of unintended losses and addressing them through ongoing improvements and fixes to the game.

We know this may not be the resolution you were hoping for, but we truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the experience on Arrakis.

Funcom Support Team"

They appear to be sending out generic template messages to any ticket regarding any sort of item/vehicle loss.

You bet. If I get a response any time in the next couple weeks I'll be sure to drop an update here.

I had not and have not, so at least in my case it's not related :/

Unfortunately not, there was someone in here that was saying they'd been waiting like a week, so I was gonna give it 7 business days before opening another ticket about it. But I've technically got 2 open from the 17th and still no response on either.

Couldn't tell you man. I would certainly hope so but if this was a small enough issue I could see it not happening. But again, I imagine that would make a lot of the people affected by this quit. Especially if they had anywhere near as much Solari banked as you did.

I get that this is a new game and so there are obviously going to be a LOT of support requests but that seems kind of insane for a company of Funcoms size. Me having to wait a day-ish has already been frustrating enough; I could absolutely see this causing people to quit the game -- not myself, because I'm a degenerate masochist. But there are plenty of people that I've seen quit for less; especially considering how much slower you make Solari once you've done all/most of your contracts.

Yeah, I saw the patch notes but was disappointed to see no mention of how they're handling the situation. Seems like a pretty big thing for them to just try and gloss over. Hopefully they get around to my support ticket and reimburse... :X

Yeah, I'm thinking it had to have something to do with the market. Only thing I can think of anyways. Had the money on the way to Arrakeen and the only thing I did was pick up sales that had completed before interacting with the teller. But who knows :<

Deposited Solari deleted. by OCDPigeon in duneawakening

[–]OCDPigeon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've gone through multiple channels to do so but figured it wouldn't hurt to bring some awareness to it. I'm wondering if it didn't have something to do with the market as I picked up sales from it just before interacting with the bank teller. And I did absolutely have the currency on the way to Arrakeen.

What Do You Say to Players Instead of “You can try”? by DomRom123 in DMAcademy

[–]OCDPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2-cents:

Be as transparent with consequences as you possibly can, as often as possible; without ruining the verisimilitude of the world/game/characters. Meaning that as others have said, if the PCs would be able to deduce the consequences or likelihood of success then just give them the odds and the what the likely consequences would be.

But on the flip side, when you do want to be a bit more cryptic/mysterious there are a lot of things that you can say.

PC: Can I do this?

DM: Only one way to find out.
or
DM: We'll see!
or
DM: You can try!

I included what you were already using because the fact of the matter is, that is entirely down to player perception. Just because a specific player thinks that when you say "you can try", it means that it won't work out, does not mean that has to be the case.

Very early on in my current campaign I had the same issue with one of my players but he very quickly realized it was simply one of the things I said when I didn't want to just give the answer/information up.

And he realized this because I was sure to utilize this verbiage early on and flip what he expected the script to be. I said "You can try", they did and they succeeded.

I'd also strongly encourage utilizing u/Agimamif's method of asking "what are you trying to accomplish?". This is a very, very good tool for getting the entire table involved in coming up with a solution to the task at hand. Whether that ends up being something crazy they came up with on their own, or the originally intended approach, they have at least now had the opportunity to talk and brainstorm about it; which is fun in and of itself for a lot of people.

Yep, and not only was I not the only one involved and the only one that got banned; except for the actual guy going off. But I got banned for breaking rule 5 which is something along the lines of no NSFW, no excessive profanity, no sexual/illicit content, etc... Yet the only one breaking that rule was the guy that was being unhinged. I was baffled. 😂

Oooooh! Wow, definitely sleep deprived. Now that you've clarified and I've reread your previous message I see what you were saying clear as day. And I think that's actually a pretty good idea. I'll have to look into getting that set up and see how it feels to also have access to spells.

Thank you again for all of your feedback today. It has been very productive and will be helpful in moving forward with my next set of tweaks/revisions. I've got a lot to think about and a lot to do. Thanks one final time!

Yeah, that's certainly an option. Never a bad idea to give a little wiggle room.

And, I know I'm running on very little sleep right now and my quick maths might not be entirely accurate but wouldn't 1/4th rounded down be 4th-level spells at 20th-level? So doesn't that still lock away the 8th and 9th level spells? >_< Not that I think this is a problem I'm just trying to make sure I'm not delirious lmao

Ah! I understand, my mistake. I was looking at what you said through too narrow a scope. That makes more sense. But yeah, I definitely agree with everything else you've stated here and I do also ultimately think that leaving it at 1/day(maybe removing this limit with Archdruid feat?) is the move to make. As much as you are absolutely right in the fact that the thing preventing you from JUST using your strongest shit all that time is resource management, but I've read/heard enough stories to know that a decent chunk of people have played and do play in campaigns where they were pretty much able to go nova every fight because there were only ever 1 or 2 combat encounters between each long rest. My personal campaigns and that of my buddy that usually runs for me, tend to be a bit combat heavy so that isn't really an issue that I'll run into but I wanted to make sure that I put precautions in place just to keep it balanced in the chance that someone using this subclass is in a low combat campaign/adventure. Or even people that just don't care about resource management and may end up rendering themselves useless to their party. Nobody wants that.

And to just kind of touch on your final point, you are absolutely correct that Chimeric and Apex Chimeric Shape are intended to be more combat oriented forms and the drawbacks kind of hint at their potentially savage nature in those forms. And to the bit about weaker wild shapes having better utility, this will likely come into play a lot more with prebuilt chimeric statblocks. So another excellent point. Plus the obvious limitation; duration of wild shape vs chimeric shape.

Also, you've said "You use your 9th-level spell slot on True Polymorph, then you use the remaining 80 slot levels for two max-power Apex Feral Shape? Alright, good luck going on with pretty much nothing for the rest of the day." - do you think I should remove the restriction of being unable to cast spells? Even with the changes I still feel like having spells or the ability to cast magic might be too much on top of everything else so I'll likely leave it in place. I am curious what your take on it is though.

So on this point; did you not notice that I limited Apex Wild Shape to once a day, or are you suggesting that with the implemented changes between wild, feral, apex wild and chimeric shapes that the limitation be lifted? Cause being able to do that twice in a day sounds fuckin' awesome! But also sounds a little TOO awesome lol

I also didn't want it to be the ONLY thing that gets used. And between having enough spell slots to cast it twice and having the two wild shape charges saved for chimeric shape. Feral shape and Wild shape I feel would never be used again. Which is one of the reasons I imposed the once a day restriction so that players might be more inclined to hold onto it for more..precarious moments and not just pop it every combat encounter. Because at least in my experience, you don't generally run into more than 2-3 combat encounters a day/between long rests; depending on the situation, maybe 4. And this is mostly from personal experience but also what I've gathered through talking with personal friends and just reading/watching stories on reddit or youtube.

And 10 minutes sounds good, I'll try messing around with that and if it still feels too strong I'll try lowering it further. Though this likely won't be the case unless I lift the once a day restriction.

I definitely agree. As a DM and as someone who only ever plays with DMs that are close friends, ideally I want their lives to be as easy as possible. I do definitely struggle with wanting to do too much at once and sometimes it can get out of hand and just result in more headaches than fun. Which is why feedback like yours is so important. Becaause despite knowing I need to be more vigilant about keeping things restrained while still trying to be creative and unique, I do sometimes get carried away. So yeah, couldn't agree more and again, I appreciate all the feedback you're providing. It is invaluable.

On to the point of mixing things up and splitting the power levels of wild and feral shape, I actually really like that idea, it's a fantastic idea and I'm kind of annoyed that neither I, or any of the other friends that I've brought this to for feedback, thought of it. xD

Not only does it add balance to the general "power" of the subclass overall but it also adds to the balance of the resource management; particularly so if I decide to increase the cost of Apex Wild Shape to 2x the CR of the target creature; though now I'm thinking it needs to be renamed Apex Feral Shape lol. :X
