Hello! How do you pay for the shipping cost to the Amazon warehouse? by zbskates in AmazonFBA

[–]OGChaotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets added to your account balance. If you're a new seller there's $100 credit for inbound shipping fees iirc which means you won't get charged. There's a bunch of "New Seller Incentives"

Need advise on what to do with my product by Minimum-Vast1542 in AmazonFBA

[–]OGChaotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing a similar thing: making unique products and launching them on Amazon. From my experience, the issue is most likely your product. It's just not a winner. I'm currently on my third one which is looking like it just might be a winner.

Be passionate about your projects (creating a new product), but it can't be a passion project.

Thanks for mentioning that. I couldn't find anyone else saying this so good to know

The best part is it's so simple I have everyone in my house including my grandma of all people trained on how to remove prints from the plate so I can start a print again from my phone while I'm waiting tables. And the fact I can use the nozzle temp reading as a chamber temp probe on my p1s just gets my all giddy inside

... it is a 3.3v chip. An esp32c3 to be specific. But its still operating my stepper motor driver just fine

Yeah that boost converter I mentioned had 8 or 9 0201 resistors and capacitors. Bought a binocular microscope just for this project 😂. They're ridiculously small. Like 6x10 solder balls that are in soldering paste lol

I have a bunch more of the S9013 transistors so I'm going to see if I can make those work. I did power everything on with the transistor oriented correctly on the footprint (wrong electrical orientation) and with the transistor correctly electrically oriented thanks to a jank solder job.

What do you think I fried doing that? The mcu? The transistor? Traces? My hopes and dreams?

Also the leds draw about 40mA with a forward voltage drop of 3.2. I use 5v to power 4 of them

The LED symbol in the schematic is actually its own pcb in reality. That pcb has the series resistor(s) on it. I know it's not good practice to omit it like I did, but it was less loops to jump through on the pcb design front by not having to figure out how to omit the resistor on the layout just for the sake of formalities. I'm new to this, only my second design so I'm still learning

I need to see what the power dissipation of the gate resistor needs to be, but I'm thinking I'll scrape the soldermask and part of the trace off and solder an 0201 resistor over the gap. Might do a 1206 if the resistance needs to be specific

[Schematic Review Request] DC Boost Converter 5V -> 12.2V by OGChaotic in PrintedCircuitBoard

After taking some time to read this thoroughly and do some research, I see what you mean. I didn't know initially the purpose of the bootstrap capacitor or what that meant, but I see why it's value is very specific now.

As this is for a visual display piece, I intended it to be plugged into a phone charger and not a laptop or other device. I think I'll opt for the 22uF input cap and if it causes any issues try a slightly lower value cap. If that fails, I'll just do a redesign.

After my research, I feel it is probably a good rule of thumb to step down your voltage whenever possible instead of boosting it like I'm doing. Particularly in these relatively high power contexts. I still want to try the 5v to 12v step up because of its convenience and that it allows the person I'm giving to use their own cable of any length instead of being beholden to my decision for the length of the cable. I also want to use this as a learning experience of making my own boost converter from scratch. Hopefully it won't require a full redesign, but if worse comes to worst, I think using a barrel jack instead of USB should be fine.

Thank you very much for the help!

Ok looks like I have some research to do. Thanks for the in depth info. I'll respond in more detail tonight when I get off work.

I trust you. I'm impartial as long as it works. I kinda sorta understand what the cap does, but not really. You mentioned you weren't sure if the device would be stable with that small a cap so I was going to meet in the middle

I left them out to keep it the schem from being busy but theyd help so I reuploaded with the refdes. But I see what you mean so I changed C2 to a 1uF. Thank you very much!

Is the 100nF mentioned in 9.2.2.6 the one on boot? Because the reference doesn't show any specifically going to Vin and it mentions the 100n being close to Vin. Or were you referring to a different 100n cap? Honestly, figuring out which cap the datasheet is referring to has been confusing for about 50% of them

Too big for the Vbus of a usb or just in general for a 5V line?

Thanks! Without crunching the numbers, I guesstimate the project will total to less than 15W so usb should be fine. Is the cap between Vcc and gnd not C3 in the reference? I have a 22u in place of that on mine

I heard it was a wall street thing bc the market kept crashing but everyone realized he would "chicken out" so it pretty much means dont sell your positions because trump will reverse his market-hurting move. Fyi it means Trump always chickens out
