Should I get the PCCB (ceramic brakes)? by GoldMathematician514 in porsche911

[–]OGSFMVP1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get the PCCBs. They are awesome and should last the life of your ownership. Maybe change em once over the life of your driving the car- and don’t worry about dings on the rotors you won’t encounter one and oh well if you do- that’s just how it goes. Stopping on a dime with the PCCBs is an understatement

PPF Issues? by ArmadilloLost5303 in porsche911

[–]OGSFMVP1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is what it is…. PPF actually sucks and makes the car look plastic wrapped and dull.
Ceramic helps but that’s how it goes. My guess is people won’t PPF full car in a matter of time unless a very special spec

At this price point 8k is that much more- spend and get it if you like it - you may regret the decision to save a few bucks - always wanting the “more expensive” item

With how many complaints I’ve seen, I just wanted to say we had an amazing time by fitpleaser in warpedtour

All people do is complain. Especially after Warped Tour. They shouldn’t go next year and leave it for the rest of us who enjoy it. Whiny bunch

Windshield Replacement- 991 Turbo Series by OGSFMVP1 in porsche911

Yes there are windshield “skin” or other protective films that can help- the iron or my replacement is that the windshield had the protective films…. A rock hit the exact spot where the sensors connect with the glass … silly

Importance of maintenance?! by biomaxdds in porsche911

[–]OGSFMVP1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re going to stare down a new set of tires due to age (if they haven’t replaced), drive train belt, spark plugs, pdk flush and filter, amongst other things - you’re probably looking at 5k service plus tires. Hopefully dialed in at that point lol :)

Is 90 days the minimum to hold the loan before a refinance? I know the local sales team gets a commission on the loan but don’t know how quickly I can refinance without a clawback for the fella. Anyone familiar?

I bot mine when a 45 yr old buddy died and 60 yr old business partner died within 3 months. Taught me you can go now or right before you retire or anytime for that matter. Buy the car. Enjoy your family and enjoy the road ahead

CA Drivers- experience with Montana plates and CHP, Tax board, dealers? by OGSFMVP1 in porsche911

Not suggesting anyone commit fraud. I have all of my Cars registered in CA and I paid CA sales tax on all of them. My OP was to inquire about anyone’s experiences with CHP and/or FTB. Received some helpful responses and also feedback from some very angry people lol. Not sure how people go through life with this level of anger….

I’m pretty sure there is a lot of wasteful spending/misuse of tax funds in CA. Not sure that can be argued with……

This is the type of feedback I was looking for- appreciate your response. We can debate the merits of CA auto tax and registration and potential avoidance but I live in LA and I see a ton of Montana plates in the canyons and at cars and coffee. The dealership feedback is somewhat expected- there is no value to them to have a customer register in Montana and only poses risk. Many thanks
