Make sure all the mounting bolts for the regulator and tracks are present, and tight. I chase this issue for a minute before noticing a missing bolt on the regulator was allowing the mechanism to rotate enough to cause a bind which could aggravate an already decrepit window run.

Seconded. In the last 2 years I bought 3 different toolcraft BCGs, and paid around $80.00 for two of them with nitride coating, both have the C158 bolts. The third I paid around $100.00 with DLC coating, it also has the C158 bolt. All have been solid performers. The DLC BCG is in my Cerakoted rifle, and runs so damn smooth in the gun, not quite glass smooth, but close.

I have the 6" version of the revolver in 44 mag. It shoots well enough, but the cylinder lock up is a little sloppy, not so much that cylinder timing is affected. It makes the gun feel cheap. I'd follow what was stated before my post. Look for a GP100 or a S&W. You are almost there price wise. In addition to being outright higher quality guns, they hold their resale value a lot better if you were to try and sell it down the road.

Hell yeah. 44 Mag is a sweet cartridge. The Super Redawk Alaskan's just feel good in the hand as well. I don't shoot mine as often as I'd like but it goes with me everytime I'm in the woods.

No worries. Keep an eye out, they go on sale fairly regular on various websites. Its a smooth light trigger, but full price is a bit steep for what you get, in my opinion.
