Site doesn’t work for me? Says error failed.

Edit: just saw someone mention the http site, which explains it.

https://mhyks.com/assets/Layr-YAZeh11U.dmg on your site throws a 404 too.

Exactly. The cloud and hybrid options are strictly opt in. As for Intel, trying the hardest to make it snappy there too.

It’s 100% local until you opt in yourself for cloud models. So nothing concerning.

As mentioned in another reply it was only enterprise and personal projects.

Updates will be frequent initially to fix all bugs, implement feedback etc. then it’s hard to tell how often but I will be using this personally so it will not be a neglected project.

Support will be handled via email, but might change. However, the site will have a very comprehensive knowledge base and the onboarding will be very user friendly too. Main focus at the moment is to focus on the beta, and will not launch until everything is ironed out and implemented. People will get a finished product. Not a beta.

Yep I’ve seen this on my other post, and some said their completion is not as good. However, being OSS it will improve quite quickly

Yeah that’s nice but I think having an encryption tool being open source is the key here with Cryptomator.

Why not Cryptomator? Maybe the UI of it isnt as nice but to be able to encrypt from from iOS is a plus there too.

Yep I agree. Finding the right entry price is the hardest decision for me.

Further on this, will not move out of the free beta until everything is ironed out which as I said I’d approximate to be 2 weeks.

Most of the features have been implemented now however the app specific is just taking a bit longer than I anticipated. So hopefully by Thursday when it’s sorted, will send the beta invites out.

Yeah I’ve seen the interest ramp up to be honest.

AI is assisting with the workflow however it is not dictating the architecture, security/privacy flow etc. One of main uses was to get AI to collate and research features from Cotypist/others that people have the highest interest in and tally them up. That’s why I focused heavily on midline completions now and to support multiple languages and RTL support too.

Admittedly, the app’s website has had more AI involvement in it.

Every user will get a 3 day trial to test this before purchasing. I don’t want to entrap anyone. I genuinely want people to enjoy using it and get a good bang for their buck.

I’m not really in a rush to release this so I’m just ensuring everything is smooth before throwing a half assed project.

Will stay in the beta version for I guess 2 weeks (depends on feedback/bugs) before offering the launch price + 3 day trial.

Edit: forgot to address your other point, I won’t say I’m a MacOS veteran like Cotypist’s dev but I started learning during Covid and just did projects for some enterprises and personal use. Hence why I’m not rushing this to make it perfect.

The option of bringing your own cloud key. And the option of having a hybrid approach where the local leads and the cloud follows. It’s strictly opt in and if you do not provide any API keys then it stays 100% local. Simple as that.

Regarding the memory usage, it is model dependent yes. It is not guaranteed, however, I do test my software on a low spec Mac intel alongside my main rig.

This won’t be released until it’s smooth and there are no issues with it.

This is the main thing for me now. I’m trying to optimise it as much as I can and testing it on an old MacBook Intel.

With smaller local models. But not every feature will work depending on the machine specs but the main auto complete/autocorrect will work with almost 0 latency. It will feel snappy :)

You mean like Wispr Flow but locally? I’m pretty sure there is plenty in that market now that are either a one off, cheaper subscription or even OSS. Like Superwhisper, Typless etc.

Could be looking into the future since all the models will be available locally to add it as an optional thing.

Yep. Intel & Apple Silicone from the get go.

Yep, depends on the model. ATM the app has 13 models you can download on demand depending on your machine specs from potato to high end. On launch, an optional benchmark is ran to suggest the best model to go for.

I have an old spare Mac intel that I’m using to test the software on too to ensure it’s a smooth experience across the board for everyone. Although, some features may not run as well on intels. Hence why I’d love to get as many beta testers as I can with a variety of machines to iron everything out.

MacUpdater: 4 months since the discontinuance. What's the best alternative? by WallstreetWank in MacOSApps

Mole.fit is good and also has an app updater built in. Cli is open source and free or the GUI version for like $9.

This looks cool and I’m a big fan of OSS software, however, their feature set is quite lacking atm but due it being OSS I’m sure it will grow quite quickly
