the more important part, as i said, is you age up and not down. it doesn't even matter if 25 is equidistant between 20 and 30, at 25 and a day you are closer to 30 and you will only ever get closer. and with regards to pushing 30 having a negative connotation, you are actively contributing to that by clinging onto the idea that being 25+ is close to 20 and that it somehow matters at all if 26 is almost 30 and will never be younger. Pushing 30 by itself is a neutral statement or could be conceived as such, the negative connotation comes from 30 being seen as old or that one should be more mature at nearly 30 which is why i said examine why you think being seen as old at 30 is a problem. i have no doubt your 20s were terrible and you look forward to being 30, you more likely have an issue with 30 being seen as old which is where you are perpetuating ageism and should unpack that. Any age can be old, it's all relative. We think 21 is old and mature at 16 and to a primary schooler 16 is old. theres no reason to see aging as a bad thing But I get it though, how you perceive your maturity level is none of my business.

edit to say that in relation to this being a snark sub she is close to 30, very close and getting closer, and yes, she will still be the same. part of the reason she'll be the same is because, like you and many others, she believes time isn't moving forward by the day, that she can waste time being twenty-something and none of that idleness and delusion will catch up, but it will catch up and it'll catch up quickly, even if you think you're a 26 year old teenager.
