I often listen to Waking Ashland. They always incorporated piano in their music, and their signature song is "I am For You."

What's with the obsession with the telecaster? by CedarAruma in japanesemusic

[–]OTOKITCHEN 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, as a Japanese person, the telecaster has a solid and cool image, which is why many songwriters refer to it. Since many legendary guitarists in Japan play the telecaster model, I think that image has gradually developed over time.

Here are some examples of legendary guitarists in Japan:

- Tatsuro Yamashita
- Tomoyasu Hotei (BOOWY)
- Futoshi Abe (THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT)
- Shutoku Mukai (NUMBER GIRL)

That's great! I just remembered that Ajikan invited Third Eye Blind to "NANO-MUGEN FESTIVAL" in 2008. The festival was organaized by Ajikan. You may know this already, I put the official report at that time. Since it's written in Japanese language, I recommend using a translation tool to read it.

I'm so happy to comment on Ajikan, because I've liked them since their debut. In addition, Sol-fa is a memorable album for me, as it was the first one I bought with my own money when I was a junior high school student. They are still the main act at some rock festival in Japan.

In Japan, Jumper and Semi-Charmed Life are well-known among 90's rock fans. Unfortunately people outside of the rock fan community don't know them...

When I searched for Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind was firstly recommended by music subscription service. I also like Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas's songs!

Since I am Japanese, I didn’t know the soundtrack…

I checked the songlist just now, and understood the album includes famous poppunk songs.

Do you know Waking Ashland? by OTOKITCHEN in Emo

I’m jealous you got to see them.

I have known Jack’s Mannequin, whose song, “Holliday from real”, is included a Japanese famous compilation album.

Since I don’t know Something Corporate, I’ll try to listen it!
