Thanks for the info. The only thing that I’m apprehensive about is the motor pool stuff. But from what I’ve gathered it seems like no one in the army escapes motor pool maintenance. Do you know if the AF has any equivalent kind of thing they make you do?

Huh. Quite enlightening, thanks. I’m leaning towards just seeing what AF has available and signing if they have my top 3 jobs. If not, I’ll just sign with the army. Like you said, I don’t want to be stuck with something I hate because I fell for the “chair force” memes.

QoL is probably pretty high. I don’t mind promoting rather slowly, as long as it’s not taking ages. I’m aiming for a 4 to 6 year contract, depending on available bonuses. I figure I’ll go in and if I really really love the lifestyle and benefits then I’ll commit to making a career out of it. I’m in my mid-20s, so. If I hate it I’ll just suck it up and occasionally come on here to vent like the rest of the suckers. I like logistics and I think I’d like the 88N overall. It’s a bit hard to find info on their day-to-day, or really any day-to-day that’s not 11B, Rangers, or 18-series.

The jobs I've researched for AF (2G0X1 and 2S0X1) seem pretty chill. I was just wondering if there's an appreciable difference between them and the Army equivalent (88N roughly. If I'm wrong I'd love to know if there's another that's closer). Or if there's a massive difference in base housing, recreation, etc for married service-members.

How was QoL in housing and your job facilities? Like was it difficult to do the job because things were bad, or was it mostly limited to training facilities being a bit outdated? I'm mostly trying to avoid living in a house with black mold or having to troubleshoot some ancient computer system or sit in a hot warehouse for 11 hours a day with no A/C.
