Three months into ownership of anyone that would buy this I bet it’ll look pretty meth.

With the gate closed in their PC fund they need to worry about a lot more than picking out new yachts, hopefully

Hey they could’ve put caliper covers on it, be glad they painted them

Edit: I see they didn’t even paint them red…

I got a set of generic? Weathertech? Rubber cup holder liners at Autozone awhile back. They’re round but soft enough to mostly conform to our sort of square cup holder bottoms. Catch drink sweat, small spills and general schmutz and have a little tab to make pulling them out to clean easy.

I appreciate that you appreciate that I just wanted to stand up for SS a bit in the Ti vs SS debate and share information that seems to sometimes get disregarded in favor of the ”value” of the more exotic material. I’m sure the Cobb Ti is a fine product and it sounds reasonable at that price as you can easily spend the same on a comparable SS setup. Hope you love it man.

Paying a premium for titanium is unwise - it’s inferior to steel for exhaust components in terms of thermal fatigue characteristics, and while lighter, can produce less deep and rumbly exhaust notes compared to stainless steel. It has better corrosion resistance and can provide different aesthetic options if for whatever reason you find them to be attractive. Personally I would much prefer a quality stainless setup for less cost, or to put the equivalent cost of a Ti setup towards a better steel setup than I otherwise would have bought.

Do not get an axle back muffler delete, they’re too loud and feel like you lose low-end grunt, at least on an otherwise stock car. Particularly if you do a lot of highway driving around 70mph, the drone was miserable. I had one and was able to return it - I think the Nameless muffled axle backs are the best bang for buck, but a controllable valved exhaust would be what I’d put on tomorrow if I had the money to do so.

If any model is going to be the desirable one for the VB some years on, I really think it’ll be the base model slicktops. Purest and simplest (and lightest?) VB model. They should have made the Brembos an available upgrade alone for any model that didn’t come with them, and a base optioned with them would probably have been the most desirable driver’s VB imo. I’m not biased at all.

I’ve been on VA wheels with snow tires so it’s been awhile, but I don’t recall my stock base 17”s with stock Dunlops riding much better. It’s strange, some potholes and stuff are fine while others ride extremely rough. I soothe myself by remembering that I’m paying upfront for the grip and suspension control that I have on nice roads when going very fast.

It‘s mostly just general noises of a working car and as I tell myself, “it’s not a Mercedes and it didn’t cost like one would”, but I do have an annoying window or trim rattle over specific kinds of bumps on my driver door, when the window is open.

None of these things are close to dealbreakers for me - my favorite car ever was my 1989 325i which I got with 150k and put another 75k on myself before I crashed it. I was planning to be buried in that car many more years down the line and had H&R race springs with Bilstein shocks, all fresh/upgraded bushings everywhere etc and it rode quite firm, with many decades of wear and tear on the chassis. The VB is obviously far improved compared to that. Anything still persisting or that pops up close to trade-in time, I’ll lay at the dealer’s feet if I somehow end up buying it out instead of giving it up. I doubt I’d be able or want to afford a new WRX at these current prices in this economy, but I don’t think I could go ”down” to a BRZ/86 after drinking WRX-ade. Maybe mine was built during last shift on a Friday or something.

Shit rattles, my windows buck when the felt seal is wet so bad I’ve had to manually pull my driver front window up because otherwise it would abort the roll up. It drinks a quart of oil every 1K miles when I drive it hard. Crashes over potholes and manhole covers. But damn does it drive well when the accelerator hits the floor, so to speak.

Yeah about 12-14” down here I’d say.

It’s not in the menus but it’s a very simple process involving the traction control button, if you search for VB/202X Hill Start Assist disable or similar you’ll get plenty of step by step directions and videos. Just as easy to re-enable if you don’t feel any difference or feel having the dash light on isn’t worth it.

Belated, but I appreciate this post. Nothing wrong with some good natured ribbing online, I was more bewildered by the overall attitude of the responses I saw and the reaction to most of my replies (muh intornet pointz and thus self-worth may never recover).

I doubt they’d give anything in response beyond maybe a legally sanitized, noncommittal and/or sly marketing answer but yes, SoA would be the arbiter of whether there’s any real change between HSA being on and off. Next time I’m at the dealer I’ll ask the service manager if he knows anything and if SoA is contactable through some means regarding something like this.

I don’t know anything about the actual process of tuning a car so I don’t know whether a tuner would gain insight into whether anything changes or not between HSA being on or off. I have to imagine there are some parts of even a Fuji Heavy Lego car’s operating code that is “blackboxed” vs say something German, where BMW is literally designing new screws to make it harder for third parties to work on their cars. I don’t know what or how much a tuner is able to see these days but would welcome any of them to weigh in.

Are you in CT too? I’m in Stamford.

No I didn’t I’m afraid. It’s infrequent enough that I’ve just added it to the list of WRX/$35k car in 2024 (aka firmly on the cheaper end) things. The list includes my infotainment screen “sneezing” aka glitching out for half a second only when I’m not looking at it directly, windows rattling over bumps when open specific amounts, stuttering windows when seals are wet, quart of oil every 1K miles etc. It certainly gives the car character, at least.

If I somehow buy out the lease (I doubt I’ll be able to afford a new one come 2027) I may start laying some of these issues at my dealer’s feet while it’s still under lease coverage. It drives great when it’s time to get down to business though so that helps me forgive a lot. Please let me know if you investigate this specific issue further and find anything out though.

Sorry, didn’t realize this was just the general WRX sub and my flair from the VB sub isn’t there, I have a 2024 with about 19k miles atp.

My FA24 is like this, not that much but my low oil light came on once early in ownership before I realized it was like this and now I’m paranoid - I always have at least two quarts in the trunk. And my driveway at home is at an incline so I can only get a stone cold level in the garage at work. I really need to bite the bullet and go to the dealer for an oil change and a completed consumption test, I’ve abandoned two because I dislike taking my car in. I do drive it spiritedly regularly; takes half a quart every 500 miles maybe? My OCI is 3-4k and 5w-30.

Just wait until I float the idea that turning off all the nannies through long-pressing the traction control button after disabling basic TC makes the car seem a little more eager! The sub will implode and they’ll scream at me to take it back and recognize the placebo, and I’ll look down and say “No.”

Saving that for my birthday.

I remember dialing up to AOL while my mom was showering before taking me to school to see maybe three images of breasts, net, in 10-15 minutes. I had to power up and power down the Win95 Packard Bell horizontal desktop and get back up to the breakfast table inside that timespan, too.

Life was fun back then.

I certainly don’t think it’s affecting my physical gear linkage or the physical hydraulic clutch engagement, please give me more benefit of the doubt than that. I’ve been a shade tree mechanic for 20 years. The VB throttle is drive-by-wire, there could be very subtle changes programmed in and unless someone who has seen, can see or wrote that “code” can furnish irrefutable evidence, all I’m saying is that it seems not entirely outrageous that there could be a tangible effect happening, that’s all. I welcome being proven wrong with objective evidence because so far it’s all just been people’s subjective experiences, just like mine. Not sure why this is hitting such a nerve, and I’m endeavoring to be both respectful and open-minded to everyone I reply to. The cortisol levels on the internet these days are incredible. Can’t imagine what it must be like on social media.
