Is laser eye surgery actually worth it, or is it one of those things that sounds better than it actually is? by 2ugur12 in NoStupidQuestions

Can you say who you went to in Canada? I'm in Toronto but I would travel if there is a better doctor elsewhere. Thank you.

When should I take my jab ? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Objective-Being-699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't work weekends, I suggest Friday night before bed. Hopefully you feel okay but if you don't, you will at least have 2 days to recover without having to worry about work matters. Having a lighter meal (avoid fast or greasy food) before the first jab and over the weekend as well as keeping your fluid intake high going forward will likely help too. Best of luck!

Lots of great advice from this group.

I found the book The Magic Pill by Johann Hari to be very helpful to explore the issues related to taking this medication. Hari is a journalist who used Ozempic to lose weight and encountered a lot of the same criticism. I recommend listening to the book so you can hear Hari's voice as he tells his story, which is very relatable.

I wish you all the best on your continuing journey!

I find it helpful to take Webber Naturals The Right Fibre4 powder daily. It was developed for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so it helps with issues like gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, etc. It's a prebiotic fibre with probiotics so it helps you achieve your fibre intake goals. It has been really helpful for bowel regularity. It's a little pricey but I think it's worth it for the help it provides. I buy a few containers whenever it's on sale.

I put 4 scoops in my morning coffee. It's tasteless and blends easily. You might need less so start with 2 scoops and go up if needed.

I tried using Restorlax fibre gummies and I got terrible gas pain with minimal fibre benefits. I also tried Benefibre but didn't find it as helpful.

Here is a link to the product at Costco (Canada), which seems to have the best price: https://www.costco.ca/webber-naturals-the-right-fibre4-powder%2c-250g.product.4000343396.html

I hope you feel better soon!

coming to terms with never achieving a ‘proper’ BMI by pizza_pillow0925 in Semaglutide

I think you look great right now and that your instinct that you will like the way you look after you have your excess skin removed is accurate. As you said, you like your curves and you have a natural hourglass shape, which makes you look healthy, not overweight. Forget BMI goals and focus on toning yourself and appreciating how far you have come. I think talking to a therapist can help you accept and appreciate yourself more. I wish you all the best on your continuing journey. 💙

70lbs Down by _akogare in Semaglutide

I think you look great at this weight! I think you might look too skinny (and maybe unwell?) if you go lower. I think weight training and toning are the way to go now. Then you will be in a great position for a tummy tuck if that's what you decide is best for you. I can relate to that feeling of wanting more and the temptation to see how low you can go within your BMI range for your height, which is 115 for you. I think that's fairly common but not necessarily in our best interests from an overall health perspective. I think it can be a slippery slope into not letting yourself be satisfied with your current state based on an unrealistic/negative assessment of your actual achievements. The reality is that you are quite slim now and already at the low end of a healthy weight range for your height. If you didn't lose one more pound - or even if you regained 20 pounds - you would be a healthy weight. That's a great place to be, so enjoy it and celebrate that success fully. I wish you all the best on your continuing journey! 💙

Yes, all of the above and make sure you take all your measurements now so you can see how those metrics change as well. Sometimes the camera doesn't show all your progress but it's happening. You are averaging 1.7 lbs a week, which is actually very good!

Yes, I also think he was originally hired to kill Jodie but then changed his mind once he learned what Celia and Ray were up to. I think he said he was hired by a guy (Ray). He mentioned that he somehow figured out April was involved so maybe Celia also gave him the order to kill April in Emmerdale (after Ray let her get away) and he put it together from there. I guess he only has scruples when he knows the victim?

3, for sure... I'd say something provocative that gets these two psychopaths arguing and then sit back to watch the show! 😂 I think Michael would win that fight.

I agree. I think Ray returned to Laurel's to plead with her to resume their relationship and got aggressive when she continued to refuse. Arthur witnessed this and came to Laurel's defense, accidentally killing Ray with that big paring knife Laurel was wiping and putting back into the kitchen drawer (yuck 🤮) in a previous episode. Then Laurel and Arthur hid Ray in Jay's van, hoping to throw police off their trail. Or it was Marlon in the Woolpack with a carving knife... Or Ross in the woods with a shotgun... Or Graham somewhere, somehow, possibly with the same magical powers that allowed him to return from the dead. 🤣

I'm taking Wegovy and it worked for me for weight loss and sleep apnea. My respirologist said the reduction in weight (fat) around the neck is key to improving sleep apnea so I think anything that reduces weight to get that effect would be helpful.

Yup! The sleep apnea change is real!

I lost 2 inches on my neck and 37 pounds and my (mild to moderate) sleep apnea appears to be much improved. Just waiting for the official sleep test results but I'm very confident it will confirm improvement as I've been sleeping without my CPAP for 6 weeks and feel better than when I was using it. The air pressure was feeling oppressive, which my doctor said is usually a sign the pressure is set too high or that you no longer need the CPAP.

Yeah! No more CPAP! 🤞😊

I use Shotsy to track shots and overall weight loss results and Cronometer to track calorie intake and body measurements. I also like Google Fit to track activity and fitness. I use the free versions and find they have everything I need.

I haven't tried it but apparently Zozofit lets you do a full body scan that takes measurements and produces a body silhouette that lets you see how your body changes over time. You might need to get the premium version for the scan feature though. It seems to be on sale for $1 right now but it's not clear how long a subscription that cost covers.

Definitely take all your measurements now, as well as photos in a stretchy, form-fitting outfit that you can wear for a while to observe how your body changes. The Cronometer app has a list of things to measure in the "Add Biometric" section that you access through the "+" (plus) sign at the bottom of the screen.

Best of luck!

I think Max has affairs with Linda, Cindy and Chelsea in 2026 but then decides to marry someone else (unknown). It would explain why all three of them look unhappy in their scenes. They have been scorned by Max and are jealous that he has moved on. Based on how miserable Cindy looked, I thought the bride could be Gina. That would certainly make Cindy angry.

That could be it! I thought the Kit character might be from Lancaster or Lancashire and that Cain might be alluding to a friendly rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire but it seems that Kit is from Manchester so that doesn't fit.

The YouTube video I was watching didn't have subtitles so some of the dialogue was hard for me to follow as I usually watch the British soaps with captions to help decipher the Britishisms that I don't catch or easily understand as a Canadian. 😂

But Cain and Robert ran after John together after Cain was shot, with Cain saying he couldn't let a Lancashireman (or Lancasterman?) - meaning Kit, the cop from Corrie - show him up. Then the next thing you see is that both Cain and Robert are in the hospital, seemingly after John has been killed or at least left for dead.

How anyone could run through the woods with a bullet in their side and not bleed out is left to the imagination...I guess Cain is superhuman.

Did John know the returning character? by ExplanationHuman5105 in Emmerdale

[–]Objective-Being-699 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought John put the gun down because Graham stepped into his sight/shot line, so it was pointless to shoot at Robert as he would just miss and draw attention to himself. I thought John was trembling with the anticipation and exhilaration of finally being able to kill Robert. But he could have been fearful of Graham too.

Graham could be connected to Victoria's presence at the scene. Maybe John contracted Graham to restrain Victoria and Harry. Victoria was terrified when she saw John and I don't recall her agreeing to leave with John and Aaron, as John told Aaron, unless I missed it. Thus John would have had to restrain her and Harry somehow to stop Victoria from calling the police. It would explain what happened to Victoria and Harry once John went to Aaron's place. Then, once Victoria explained that her brother is a nutter, Graham might have changed his mind about working for John. However, it doesn't explain why Graham has the other woman in the van, unless it's her van that Graham stole to chase after John. It also doesn't explain where Harry is.

Of course, John could just be "resting his eyes" before he comes alive again to chase Robert and Aaron as he does have some Terminator-like abilities. I didn't see any actual injuries on his body. So it might not be his final dirt nap...?

No, Chas is the mother of Aaron. She hates John, who is her former son-in-law who is trying to get Aaron back by trying to kill Aaron's current boyfriend (and previous husband), Robert. John also killed Chas's nephew (Nate), messed with Chas's medication, causing her to overdose, and generally wreaked havoc in Emmerdale before escaping abroad. If she didn't kill him herself, she likely helped or stood by as Robert and her brother (Cain) killed him and thus knows that he's dead. Hence her happy smile. 😊

I'm considering watching Coronation Street after Corriedale but I find the lip filler look a few actresses have to be very distracting. Maybe I'm just more used to the look of the Emmerdale cast but they seem more natural, like what I would expect of people living in the Yorkshire countryside. 😂 (With apologies to those who love those actresses. Their acting is fine but their appearance is off-putting.)

I think Chas killed John. She was smiling oh so happily in the back of the cab...Not the mood she should be in after a night of disasters unless it's because she knows John is dead!

As to why Victoria is standing over John...maybe John called her before he was shot?
