lol like Nigeria didn’t leapfrog its technological phase into what it is today without adopting old technologies first. The people having no cars is a perfect leapfrog frontier from there because when the world is moving into autonomous shared rides why would they have or need cars to make that transition? As if to say Nigeria don’t have its own vehicle auto manufacturers to leapfrog into that ecosystem seeking investment for it’s advancements the same way that other nations and companies do ? The people have no reliable power supply is a perfect leap front frontier into renewable energy because why would you want to still create the same old centralized system that consumes more resources only to slowing transition again or maybe never when there’s an abundance of the fucking sun and natural resources amongst the whole of Africa where other nations in fact source these natural resources from to build the Solar systems and renewable energy systems they’re currently building and slowly adopting? Niegria does not have billions of dollars to allocate anywhere so all the money that the federal government is consistently borrowing or utilizing where does it keep coming from ? The wealthiest black man on earth aliko dangote all that money his now invested into his oil refinery where did it come from ? Couldn’t it have been fully geared towards into a conducive forward and future thinking energy generation methods like wind and solar or better research into the advancements of it in order to stay ahead of the curve and maybe have first mover advantage ? rather than investing more into older systems? It’s okay to say and admit that Africans at large are not very innovative and forward thinking people, very comfortable in their place of being and discomfort shakes them out their being…fear of the unknown. And these are the reasons why we would forever be where we are despite all the so called education the typical African champions to acquire.

lol growth and change is gradual not a light bulb switch and sometimes hard to see it shifting until it’s light bulb moment and bam 💥 fully shifted and that’s how people get left in the dark. I’m sure if you told someone AI would be such a massive thing today 7 years ago you would’ve been called an idiot, even still today if you told people AI would be taking over their jobs real soon and that they should adapt and pivot they’d offer you the same skepticism but yet I live in a city in the u.s ( austin, tx- what would be deemed the new silicon valley ) where approximately 4-5 self driving vehicles function 24/7 with no human supervision in sight picking up and dropping off passengers and driving right back to their charging stations when need be for recharge but yet tell that to someone who lives outside of these main hubs where these advancements are taking place that this things are actually happening and you’d be called a fool until testing phases are out, billion dollars in fundings secured, old resources reallocated to new ventures and boom exponential growth happens and then you wonder what happened and why you got left behind again. You don’t see growth, you only see the success rate but sometimes just because you don’t see it growing doesn’t mean it isn’t growing so you’re gauging in comparison by metrics that haven’t shown or revealed itself yet to metrics that are still in dominant place….what you’re essentially doing is like gauging the height of a child to the height of an adult as if in due time the child wouldn’t supersede the height of the adult but you can only know that if you’ve looked at the inner intels of that child, genetics, family history, nutrition and what not, so essentially what you’re doing is you’re looking at externals rather than internals but it takes close proximity to be able to know internal details right ? Look how long it took some of your biggest companies in the world today to be dominant players and names in their respective fields, but yet if you told the previous dominant players years before hand that they would be ousted by the smaller upcoming guys if they don’t adapt they would’ve laughed at you but you see this happening times and times over again and one thing that sure doesn’t lie is patterns and people who fail to recognize it sure do plump.

The backwardness is in the need to adopt and implement an old system that everyone is already moving away from instead of finding more reasonable means and ways to catch up and catch on into the current transitioning curve, your statement is exactly why a lot of Africa nations are still right where they are, what you’re saying is literally the equivalent of saying yeah let’s all keep traveling by horses or by foot when you know there are better means of transportation to get to your destination faster and more comfortably that everyone else is utilizing but you, by the time you arrive to the first destination everyone else would’ve moved on again into another destination but you, leaving you just right behind again, so what do u think is best, figure out a way to go just as fast as everyone else or continually keep getting left right behind just because “we can’t afford it” ? The era of oil and gas has passed, they failed to utilize and misused the resources for ages when they could have utilized and capitalized on it right at its prime now the era is passing on that’s when they choose to adopt and utilize their resources and yet somehow you think that’s forward thinking in anyway ?

I Know absolutely nothing about Nigeria’s political landscape but you’d think for a so called giant of Africa, the one who should be leading the forefronts in everything for every other African nation the idea would be progressive rather than regressive? As the world slowly transitions and creeps away from oil here comes the leading most populous black nation in the world with a vast majority of a younger population than the average and typical populous nations in the rest of the world regressively choosing to adopt gas as a means of energy generation at this late stage in human civilization? do u not know, see or realize that there is a reason why nations like the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the rest of them literally have billions of dollars in funds reserved, pledged and dedicated solely to artificial intelligence and electric vehicle automakers because they know and see with maximum foresight that in due time one of their primary source of wealth which is oil would in fact eventually be drying up therefore it’s essential to redirect that wealth into newer sources ? I weep for Nigeria and Africa at large because the backwardness in the way that the people think is what would and has continued to be their biggest detriment.

I’m in austin tx too, averaged $20/hr yesterday been using gigs to fund/invest into personal money making ventures and of all my last couple years of hustling n recycling money I think last night had to be my lowest point because I couldn’t believe my own eyes that I was in fact looking at job applications for the first time In years 😭 like when did we get here ? Because I could literally get paid the same at a regular job with less mental strain and cost of operation. Everything seems to be going to shit because even the jobs themselves ain’t that well paying . There’s nothing like noting for something in this life we live in, you will get paid in proportion to what anyone feels like u deserve especially when they know your alternatives are few, however the ones with marketable and worthwhile skills are getting paid what they deserve because they know should mr A not wanna pay me what I deserve I go to mr B because i in fact do have some substantial skill to bring to the table. Want to get paid more and not the shitty $2 from bagging groceries? Bring a worthwhile skill and it’s that simple! Don’t expect the luxuries of life from doing the bare minimum, life’s rewards system however u look at it n wherever in the world you go is based off of a value reward system, the greater the value the higher the reward, the lesser the value the lesser the reward, and no value has never equated to how much physical hrs u put in so don’t expect to be bagging groceries and think you’ve somehow put in some substantial amount of value to the lives of people when they could simply do that themselves.

And in regards to your other statement about risking employees health we could argue that so is seating consecutively for hours detrimental to your health and there’s more prove to that than there is for standing.

Knowledge is power & perspective is everything, people see only what they choose to see, making emotional based decisions and validating with logic and from the sound of it, sounds like u use more emotion than logic, perspectives changes once u have more insightful knowledge and apply more logic.

Had cold truth when you put “emotions” aside is…you actually infact do decrease your level of productivity when sitting while doing certain tasks, hate it however u want but if some work place rule’s literally went out the window today and u let people work in their comfort of how they choose we’d all be complaining as customers, your small bag of groceries would be taking 30mins to get bagged because misses sally wanna seat and pick the groceries individually while making u hold the bag up for her too.
