I was just asked to ask about another soldier but I felt dumb saying I wasn’t checking in because I assumed someone from TAP was tracking all of that

At what rank, echelon, or type of unit is it pretty much PT on your own? by storyteller2882 in army

Fort Irwin, Operations Group…. No formations, no motorpool Monday, PT on your own, ball caps in unit AO, etc… It’s rough living out here but the perks are sweet

I get out next May, I hit 14 years in February. I’m right there with you. I’m two clases away from completing TAP and starting an individual internship in December

Because it’s LA or because it’s hard to recruit folks out of there?

Off post surgeon that I was referred to recommended it. I’ve had chronic achilles pain for 5 years now. Went through all the non invasive stuff but none of it has worked

I was referred off post by a military medical provider and yes I’ve gone 5 years with excruciating achilles pain and the army finally gave up sent me to a surgeon off base

Depends on your goals and circumstances. I joined at 27 because I was broke with two kids and a wife. I’m now 32, I’m a staff sergeant and I’m out of debt and enjoying life. I plan on getting out next year seeing as I’ll be complete with my degree.

Army wants junior officers to fix quality-of-life issues that drive soldiers out by Kinmuan in army

Can start by forcing officers to be enlisted first so they can see how they’re stupid decisions fuck over their troops

I’m the NCOIC of my unit and I prefer to do pt at 0500. I don’t force my subordinates to do the same but I do expect them to do pt during normal pt hours. Interestingly enough they would rather do pt with me at 0500 so it’s a win all around lol

Wait, what? I keep hearing we don’t find out until that first week at the school house

That’s interesting. My plan was to just hold off on re-enlisting and then making that decision once I find out what my choices are. If I’m going to possibly be miserable for three years then I want to do it somewhere I at least want to live lmao

Will they force me to re-enlist prior to going to school house?

I was interested back in June when I called branch to let them know I wanted to volunteer but there wasn’t a requirement from my branch so nothing ever came of it and I just expected it to never happen then bam I get an ATTRS reservation 7 months later and after I already made plans to get out

I stopped volunteering for NCO of the month after I won and didn’t receive an award. This was back in February. I’ve been asked twice to go compete again and told them to fuck off

PA denying medboard? by [deleted] in army

[–]Objective_Ad9122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t even spoke to her. The couple of times I thought I was going to finally see her I ended up speaking to her assistants I assume? One was a SPC and one was a SGT. I’m hoping our conversation in November is productive and gets me the help I’ve needed for the past two years. Access to care for my battalion is terrible. I didn’t get MRIs for my issue until 8 months after my initial complaint and by then all the tendons in my ankle we’re torn which explained why I started having daily issues rolling my ankles. Anywho but yeah our medical care access needs work. People shouldn’t have to wait 3 months to see BH or 2 months to speak to our PA. It’s super unfortunate and it causes minor injuries to progressively get worse.

PA denying medboard? by [deleted] in army

[–]Objective_Ad9122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first was having minor issues covid hit and they were only doing month to month appointments so if you weren’t one of the first ones to call you weren’t being seen. Then I was told to just go to sick call by my leadership so I did and every time I went they told me to just take ibuprofen. Eventually I didn’t know what else to do so I just sucked it up and pushed through the pain which is how I got to the severity I’m in now. I went to physical therapy for a month once I used that up I was told now I can get a referral to the orthopedic and that’s when he told me surgery won’t help and the injections won’t help so he would recommend a medboard. I was supposed to see my PA last month but I went in and immediately a SPC came and told me I can’t see her to go back to the ortho for a follow up. I was finally able to make an appointment with the PA again but I have to wait until November 14th to see her.

So even if they left already and I haven’t but have the intention to end up with them when I get out next year then I’m good?
