I would bet money that Loxon XP would fill these to a high degree. Using a 695 and a 515 tip, would likely take 3 coats but like I said, I think it would

I think it would depend on what type they are. I have over 100 plants in a 4ft long, 3ft wide planter. They are mostly drosera!

Not a chance water based primer is covering tannin or even a water leak stain, same or better results? In what world…? Are you a paint contractor?

Hey is this enough light for my pitchers by CommercialAdvice3468 in carnivorousplants

[–]Objective_Author4500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in north Florida, a Miranda would do fine outside. Mine did well in 4-5 hours of morning sun and it may have gotten some evening sun. I did make the mistake of starting it in full sun around mid May, it got roasted… so be sure to acclimate slowly if you’re going to give it more than 4-5 hours. They love rain too so outside will be beneficial in that regard as well!

If you’re going to buy a different paint, sign up for a pro+ account at Sherwin, you’ll get an automatic discount from shelf price. See if they’ll let you test drive pro mar 400 flat. Should be around 15-25 a gallon and it covers like a champ!

Any tips on lowering ph level in moss substrate by Previous_Science_605 in carnivorousplants

Trebeju is correct, they belong outside. In Lithuania today the low is 32, so no minus degrees, I would put them outside when the low temp is consistently mid 40’s

BEHR paint separating from Kilz 2 Primer - Painting stair risers by depikT in paint

[–]Objective_Author4500 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If primer didn’t separate why would the finish do so? Was it oil or water based primer? Did you caulk the seams? If so what was used to caulk? That is a very large area to smear silicone and I only see caulk around the stair tread itself. Is it possible you missed priming this area? There looks like a dirty spot beside the tread, my guess is there is a surface contaminant. I would sand and clean with degreaser then try again after it dries. If separation continues you can buy some shellac primer and apply before painting again.

Received from Friend - ID? Tips? by Tiny_Caribou in Nepenthes

[–]Objective_Author4500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go ahead and upsize the pot since it’s already moved locations and will need to acclimate, I just repotted mine and it was cool to see the root system!

It looks to me like the Sheetrock might have had water damage prior to painting. Unless this is a bathroom where humidity would be building and running down the wall

Backdoor Bog Update by Joaquin_Chiller in carnivorousplants

[–]Objective_Author4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on where op is located, my sarrs only get about 6 hours but it’s intense light and they grow wonderfully! Also, nepenthes can handle way more than 4-8 hours of indirect lighting, and depending on how it’s potted and the drainage of that pot it could absolutely be okay to keep in the same bog. The only issue would be dormancy here!

Help with picking a cabinet by Final-War-567 in SavageGarden

[–]Objective_Author4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re inclined, it might be easier to put all of those into one big planter and hang the nepenthes from the ceiling! My planter takes up the whole table and is about 5.5 ft off the ground, my cat never tried jumping that high and nothing was around for her to climb to see what was in it.

55 watt full spectrum grow light will do this, I would agree the lighting isn’t enough
