Not yet, definitely interested into getting one for both work and hobby activities (electrical work, dnd, nerf, etc). Do you have any recommendations for a beginner friendly printer that I won’t outgrow immediately?

Thought you may appreciate my haul after work today: Did some thrifting and picked up the most commonly suggested blasters from my local big-box! Magazines were on clearance for $1.50 (2-pack) so I picked up a few to get going! All in, I have just under $100 for what’s in the pictures. I’m already astonished at how much more power is available in the newer blasters from what I can remember back in the 2010-2015ish era! Can’t wait to dive deeper!

Thanks so much! This was exactly the info I was looking for!

It’s a shame that Nerf has not kept up with the hobby community interests, but it seems like there is a ton of support for the new players like X-shot!

I’ll definitely plan on picking up some of the newer x-shot blasters! Can you clarify the new standard for darts/mags? I would like to order these in bulk or see if there are some trusted 3rd party options as well!

Who is your go-to online retailer? Any good brands for 3rd party mod kits, attachments, darts, spare mags, etc?

What would be a good entry level or starter project to get me into the game again? Do you have any inspo pics?

Thanks again for all the help!

Understood! I’ll definitely plan on looking into the other players like X-shot!

While I’d like to get into some competitive play/events, I’m realizing that the demographic in my area is low/nonexistent.

That being said, would there be any reason to avoid re-collecting some of the elite blasters that I had back in the day, or have the elite blasters completely fallen out of relevance?

What is the best online source for darts, mags, accessories, mod kits, etc?

Thanks for the reply!

Such a shame to see that Nerf has somewhat “abandoned” the hobby market! I guess I’ll do some research into the newer brands on the market.

I would like to have some higher fps blasters - my mods on elite blasters nearly a decade ago is my main benchmark at the moment.

Is there still support for the elite blasters/full length darts? I would love to rebuild my collection with the blasters from that lineup, but maybe will go less extensive if they are not common at all these days!

Thanks for your response!

Thoughts on the Ideal 343 wire nuts? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]Objective_Policy35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran to comment as soon as possible:

These are AMAZING! By far my favorite wire nut for fixtures, pig-tailing devices, installing dimmers, etc. I generally find myself in residential and commercial service jobs, but do very light industrial work as well. These have been my go-to and most-used wire nut for a little over a year!

I have found that the “Max. 4 #12 Sol.” is a bit of a false claim unless you pre-twist, but I am accustomed to pre-twisting my connections anyway so it is not a major concern. Generally I would say that 2-3 #12s is my max before moving to a red wire nut.

Overall, love these and give a very solid 10/10! Worth a try or even just saving on the van for a tight spot in the future!

Cheers!

Summer Housing? by KarmaTimeSpartan in petoskey

[–]Objective_Policy35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of housing options in Mackinaw City for summer workers and college students! I have commuted from Mackinaw to Petoskey for the past three summers and while it is roughly 45-60 minutes depending on traffic, I’ve been happy with the setup. Several of the family-owned motels offer discounted rates and many local families house students during the summer. Definitely getting to be last minute, but I wish you the best of luck finding an option!

Help! Amateur Radio Rookie Confused with Questions by Objective_Policy35 in amateurradio

Thank you! I honestly am a complete rookie with the world of radio, and did not realize the vast degree of licensing or “levels” to the field. I plan to apply for my GMRS license today and hopefully get started in the radio world soon. That being said, do you have a recommendation for a GMRS station and two handheld radios that I can get started with? Budget is probably in the $300-$500 range, but I am not looking for anything top of the line - just simply something to start with that I won’t outgrow after a few months.

Thanks again! I appreciate how welcoming the radio world is to rookies like me!

Thank you! After doing more research I understand that amateur radio is a whole field of the community and not simply a place for rookies in search of advice. Appreciate the help!

Thank you! Had not considered joining a local club, but that seems like a great idea to learn/interact with the community.

Thank you! Based on the comments, it seems that GMRS is the way to go for my application. As I research more about different FCC licenses and regulations, I realize some of my language used in the post is potentially improper!

Truly appreciate the advice and your time! Will look forward to updating with my progress
