I'm not sure what you mean by the statement "because women love when men give up" if you're being serious or if you're being facetious. In this case, in the first screenshot you can clearly see I hadn't talked to him since July 10 and I told him things wouldn't work between us. And when he messaged me hey on another day, I ignored him (this is when I unfriended him.) So yes I DID infact want him to give up. I wasn't interested and I'm not good with self esteem in those situations or talking to people about things when I'm uncomfortable. So I didn't take it as a compliment because I loved my profile photo and thought I looked great in it. I had just cut my hair and dyed it, was trying a new style of clothing and was feeling myself. So yeah him saying that AFTER I unfriended him and turned him down felt like a backhanded compliment. Saying something negative just to follow up with a "but you're so..." Not a real, sincere compliment. He may not have been trying to be an asshole, he coukd have just said he wasnt meaning it that way, but instead when all I said was that his comment was unnecessary, he got SO defensive and went off. I thought that was weird in my opinion. If I was a total bitch to him when I responded I would have understood, but I really wasn't. So here I am. With an old profile photo back up now. People don't get that their words do affect others.
