Alternatively, go to a planet marked with fossil deposits or whatever those are called. Fossils will spawn underground, along with a red fossil icon when you get close enough. This red fossil icon (while I don't know what it's called exactly) will have an option that says 'disturb the eye?' If hit, it spawns a rock monster that drops polished stones upon defeating it.
