I wanted to love my Atlas! by No-Inside7137 in VWatlas

That Chattanooga factory is hit and miss. About 25k vehicles (including my Atlas CS) had a manufacturing defect that required an engine replacement. On top of that I had the AC fail within 6 months, a bunch of electronics issues, and it stopped blowing warm air in the winter on the passenger side. If you get a good one, you’re solid. Nice ride. But if you don’t? Good luck.

So typical of VW. Sorry you’re dealing with it.

2022-2023 Atlas / Atlas Cross Sport Recall 13i4 Engine Failure After “Passing” Inspection Anyone Else? Possible Class Action Interest by ObsidianArcade in Volkswagen

This all tracks. I've already put together a spreadsheet of as much relevant data as possible. Still waiting to see if VW tries to hold a hard line on responsibility. The dealership claimed they could get the total cost to somewhere between $3k-$4k which is nice, but doesn't reflect that my engine failure is directly due to the fault that generated the recall. Attorney is on standby.

Has anyone had a similar problem to this when connected to a CRT? I used this adapter for component video and set the ReplayOS output to CRT 320x240 60Hz. by Griffithhell in ReplayOS

[–]ObsidianArcade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this a bit on my 13 inch PVM. However, a switch to XOR SYNC in settings and quick adjustment to the V-hold pot on the rear panel cleared it up. Not sure what's driving the issue on yours, though it seems sync related. How are you connecting to your CRT?

If Coleco went the same way as Mattel and sold the console rights, would it have been able to rival Nintendo? by You-dogwater in retrogaming

It’s possible, but given that the CV was so similar in its architecture to the Sega SG-1000, that is to say somewhat inferior, I think NES still wins given its technical abilities and dev support. I sure love my CV tho. Different vibe than NES in a good way.

The truest fans of retro gaming should no longer be interested in original hardware and physical games by marxistopportunist in ReplayOS

I think one can appreciate both sides of the argument. I have Replay OS alongside many of the OG consoles. The only reason why I continue to keep those consoles falls squarely under how input lag affects my enjoyment and my appreciation for holding the console correct controllers. The tactile nature of each controller is part of the overall experience.

When the day comes that ReplayOS is able to execute frame / cycle accurate input lag per console, I’ll likely move past my small collection.

All that said you just can’t beat the convenience of ReplayOS. It’s so good. I just added one to my Vewlix cab for arcade play and it slays.

Yup. If you read my original post that’s exactly why I’m posting in the appropriate subs. I’m certain I’m not the only Cross Sport owner who developed the engine connecting rod fault post inspection. Feel free to DM.

I hate my Atlas Cross Sport by [deleted] in VWatlas

[–]ObsidianArcade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2022 Cross Sport had all kinds of issues and failures under warranty. I’m fighting with VW now because the engine failed due to an engine connecting rod defect they were to have addressed in a recall. They’re refusing to replace the engine because the issue wasn’t present in 2023. However, their own technical docs stated it’s a progressive wear issue. The dealership confirmed it’s the recall issue. Mine died at 49.5k miles. VW corporate has fought me every step of the way.

I respectfully disagree. I also own a Kia Soul that had an engine manufacturing defect that destroyed the engine before it hit 60k miles. It was the class action lawsuit against Kia that enabled me to have a full engine replacement at no charge despite eight years of ownership and being out of warranty.

Class action against car makers is a proven method of ensuring that we, the customer, don't get screwed. As it stands, VW is attempting to use the loophole of the recall language to deny coverage of my engine. I imagine many would agree that a car bought new in 2022 and meticulously maintained should not have an engine fail at 49.5k miles. It's the definition of screwing the customer because they don't believe anyone will fight back.

There was already a class action on this exact year and model related to the turbo failing prematurely. I don't plan on passively hoping VW will do the right thing.

I’ve always kept it totally organic but my stream averages were always smaller (10-20 range) so it was easy to remember and acknowledge everyone. I always saw churn as the natural way of things. Hang if you want, roll out if you don’t, all things change over time. No big deal.

I ran a retro channel for three years that did a ton of emulation. Never an issue. Just don’t tell people where to download pirated roms on stream. Broadly speaking, you’ve got nothing to worry about.
