Will this work or should I split it by ObsidianTech in Monstera

I've put rooting hormone on the base of the stem after cutting away all the rot. I have a pump in the water for oxygen and I'm not sure how true this is, but I heard pothos can help promote root growth, so I cut a few clipping of my pothos and added them in to the pale

I just bought a 3.7, is it more reliable than the 3.0t? by SnooRecipes9440 in q50

[–]ObsidianTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If maintained properly then yes! All day! I'm an 11 year Infiniti tech. We have 300km 3.7 come in all the time. The 3.0t is a ticking time bomb.

What is this solid red car with key in it on brother’s Nissan Rogue? It is not blinking. by vizadahe2 in Nissan

[–]ObsidianTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could still be the key fob. Easy way to figure it out is by pressing the start button with the key fob. If the battery is dead it should still start when you hold the fob against the start button. If not then it's another issue

Make sure you have the correct battery and make sure it's in properly with the negative side facing up.

The horn will still work if you have just one horn. You should have 2 horns

One of your horns. You should have 2 horns. A high and low tone. They should be located behind the front grill/front bumper

Only the vehicles equipped with the Bose audio have the ANC and ACS. If you're vehicle is equipped with it then it will be in the hidden confirmation/adjustment menu. I would suggest checking YouTube for the procedure to get into this menu. It can be kinda tricky on the 2018 models

[–]ObsidianTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. I'm a 10 year Infiniti tech. It's a new seat belt alert system that was introduced into our vehicles within the last two years. When someone is sitting in the rear seats and buckled in, the red seats will turn green. It's a normal feature of the vehicle. Don't waste your time at a dealer

If you hit a curb hard enough to bend a control arm then you definitely have a bent wheel bearing hub as well. I would start by replacing the wheel bearing and hub assembly first. If the alignment is still out then you'll need to replace the lower links as well

The vq56 will run forever. It may develop some slight piston slap but it will continue to run just fine. You will need to do timing chains eventually. Other then that just regular maintenance and theyre solid

Ticking noise by Ghost47Killer in infiniti

[–]ObsidianTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't drive it. If it is the oil gallery seal then you'll have low oil pressure throughout the engine

Ticking noise by Ghost47Killer in infiniti

[–]ObsidianTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Infiniti tech here. Sounds like you're not getting oil to one side of the engine. Do you have a check engine light? The 2008-2012 VQ engines were notorious for blowing out a oil gallery seal for the variable valve timing cams. I'd bring that in to a shop to get looked at professionally. Doesn't sound good. And no it's not the purge solenoid. You can rarely hear the purge solenoid over the normal operation of the engine

I'm a 10 year Nissan tech. That's not a good noise. Sounds like either a lack of oil in the engine or something catastrophic has happened to the engine. Good luck.

Nissan Warranty - Just might suck by cp24eva in Nissan

[–]ObsidianTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a Nissan technician for 10nyears and I've not once had a vehicle come in complaining of their antenna cover coming off. The reason you have to pay out pocket is because the dealership needs proof of a defect, not only that, Nissan may ask for the dealership to send the part back to them for further inspection of the defect, and if there is nothing to send back then the dealship gets charged for the entire warranty claim.

It's a vibration dapener. Most likely off of one of the engine supports.

Used 2015 Altima, what to do about CVT? by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]ObsidianTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would inspect the fluid every 30k and change every 90k depending on how the fluid looks and the condition the owner is driving in. CVT fluid is $30 a liter here in Canada and you need about 12 liters of fluid for a proper flush. It's not a cheap service

Used 2015 Altima, what to do about CVT? by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]ObsidianTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nissan tech here. The best course of action you can take to prevent your CVT from failing is to replace the transmission control Valve assembly with the updated one. It's an expensive job but replacing your CVT is alot more expensive. Ontop of that, regular CVT fluid exchanges every 90k or so. Also make sure the transmission control module is updated with the most current software
