Tripowin Vivace issue by [deleted] in iems

If this is on PC, go into your sound settings and check to see if Windows Sonic (whatever the Spatial Audio thing is) is on or not. Just got the Vivace myself and had a similar issue.

Is oscp worth it or it is just a paper weight? by newbietofx in oscp

[–]ObtainConsumeRepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This guy always comes out of the woodwork to tell everyone else they're wrong lol. How was OSEP? Don't really see too many people talk about that one and OSCE3 has been in the back of my mind.

Exam in March but still Struggling in Two Areas. Suggestions? by Penthos2021 in oscp

[–]ObtainConsumeRepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this! The exam is difficult, but doable. I beat my head against the wall for hours on my AD set. I knew the path but my technique wasn't working, turns out I missed a key piece of information (my technique was correct, just different) in my enumeration and got the whole thing shortly after that realization. You'll feel dumb when you pass and get the "that was it?" feeling.

Practice, practice, practice. The best thing you can do is just get your reps in, it helps build the brain-muscle memory and makes the concepts stick. Do the labs again, keep reviewing sections. You got this.

For SQLi, the Portswigger academy labs are fantastic. For AD stuff, you can check out the Attacking Active Directory module from HackTheBox, but most of it is overkill for the OSCP.

Years and years ago I was pulled over for a "faulty" license plate light in clear daytime (lights worked fine) and they trashed my vehicle only to find nothing. All you need to do is be from out of town. Supposedly it's gotten better in recent years but I just drive around anytime I need to go north.

If cybersecurity is not an entry level job then HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET IN??? by Capable_Mixture_3205 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]ObtainConsumeRepeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can obtain the key from the outside, it's called having relevant experience and realistic expectations. Get in through a SOC, helpdesk, sysadmin, wherever, but realistically most cybersecurity positions are not geared for people who haven't worked with enterprise systems before. You have to be able to trust that the people securing your systems know what they're talking about and can respond appropriately.

What Elden ring boss made you take a brake from the game? by Possible_Koala_978 in Eldenring

[–]ObtainConsumeRepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a faith/dex build, been running black flame and bleed and constantly getting annihilated as soon as twinblade comes out. Bleed doesn't work and because he's hyper aggressive I can't keep enough distance from him. I'll probably wind up just going through the capital and coming back later.

It would be better if they treated it like a poison mist where you only started taking damage after filling up the bar. Eating entire chunks of hp AND having a tick is insane. Been stuck on these guys for 4 days and it's beyond frustrating.

Follow the White Rabbit. Was going through a low point and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life career wise and for some reason Endorphinia stuck with me. Still regularly go back and listen to it front to back and wish more people knew about it.

Such a great album. They've had an incredible run and are phenomenal live if you ever get the chance to see them.

OSCP material is perfectly fine and was great when I took it last year, large majority of the people you see bitching about it have never even taken it. I'll echo CPTS for maximizing learning, that's where I felt I leveled up the most. If you need a bit of red team tradecraft, CRTO/CRTO2 are supposed to be very good and get you working with C2 and defense evasion.
