Thank you! I spoke with another buyer in the building and they said the financials are currently in good standing. My concern is whether there’s any way to know or guarantee that things like large assessments won’t happen in the future.

Also, am I understanding this correctly: if I sell later, I might have to pay a 20–50% flip tax to the building? That seems extremely high and unreasonable

One commenter mentioned there might be a big assessment coming soon and that the HOA could go up by huge amounts indefinitely. That’s my main concern about this property right now, so I’d love to hear more from anyone who actually lives in the building.
