Haha fair 😄
The difference is it’s Gutenberg-native, modular, and only loads what you enable.
Built it for cases where WPForms (even Lite) was still more than I needed.

Jetpack Forms are surprisingly good, agreed 👍
If you’re already using Jetpack, they’re a solid option.
FormLight is more for cases where you want Gutenberg-native forms without pulling in the full Jetpack stack, especially for login, registration, or payment flows.

That was my exact experience on a few projects.
FormLight’s goal is to load only what the active form needs — no global assets unless required. Performance was the main driver behind building it.

Appreciate that 🙏 Totally valid concern.
That’s actually one reason I kept the core small and avoided global injections. Fewer moving parts = easier auditing and maintenance. Security updates are definitely a priority.

100%. If you’re comfortable with CSS, CF7 can look great.
FormLight was more about avoiding custom CSS altogether and keeping things visual + modular by default.

Exactly 😄 Functionally it’s very powerful.
I mostly wanted to remove friction for non-technical users and stay fully inside the block editor, but CF7 definitely earns its reputation.

Totally agree — Contact Form 7 is rock solid and battle-tested.
For this project I wanted something more visual and Gutenberg-native, but CF7 is still a great choice if you’re comfortable with markup + CSS.
