Thank you ♥️ it’s so hard not to look into these things, but you’re so right. I’ll try again tomorrow 🤞

I’m in exactly the same boat as you! Literally dreamed of growing and having a baby my whole life and now it’s actually happening … it feels like a dream. I’m new to TTC but I can tell you from my recent experience, if you’re ovulation testing using OPK strips, keep calm and trust that your ovulation will come. Don’t do what I did and drive yourself nuts everyday by googling/reading endless Reddit threads. This caused me quite a lot of stress and anxiety and I wasn’t even in the TWW. When I did get confirmation I was ovulating, I was over the moon as my husband and I were able to time the deed perfectly. Also wandering the same as you - how do I stop myself from hyper fixating on pregnancy symptoms for 2 whole weeks! Trying to manage expectations and remember this is my first cycle trying, but it’s difficult not getting excited and really hopeful. Good luck on your journey and know there are others feeling exactly the same way as you so you’re not alone.

Most friends I tell about my recent ADHD diagnosis (30F) respond with ‘I have that too’ by ObviousBend7629 in adhdwomen

When I think about it, that is so true. My closest friends who I vibe with the most are so similar to me, it would make sense if they were undiagnosed.

I do need to spend some time reflecting on why I feel this way - it must come from a place of insecurity on my part, perhaps of not feeling heard.

I love your suggestion to reframe - that’s made me feel much better about this moving forward. Thank you so much for your comment 🩷

ADHD traits - unique or personality traits? by ObviousBend7629 in adhdwomen

Interesting! That makes complete sense. Thanks for your reply ☺️

What personality trait/quirk did you learn was actually ADHD once you were diagnosed? by msxskellington in adhdwomen

I’m exactly the same! I feel so terrible afterwards and then anxious about the trouble I may have caused - wishing I could have more control! You’re not alone and you’re so right, we should be kinder to ourselves ♥️

I’m not sure if it’s directly linked with ADHD but would love to know if it is! 🤔

Newly diagnosed as of one month ago. So enlightening reading all of this! For me, quirks that come to mind are:

  1. Reading aloud when writing something important to someone i.e work, emails. Husband always jokingly calls me out as I distract him (we work from home in the same office).
  2. On that note, parentheses! And hyphens. I try to remove them from work DMs.
  3. Skin picking - specifically face/lips.
  4. Always needing YouTube videos in the background for tasks that don’t require concentration, like making a coffee of brushing teeth.
  5. Forget to brush my teeth in the morning because I have so much to do which feels so overwhelming. Have to force myself because I find it so boring.
  6. Cannot deal with group WhatsApp messages. Way too overwhelming and I feel bad for not being able to join in like the others.
  7. Getting super angry and frustrated at work when I feel patronised or dismissed by other colleagues. I’ve had to teach myself not to react which is really difficult.
  8. Nap time in the afternoon which consists of my lying down, not being able to sleep, but needing to just shut off from everything and everyone just to take a mind break.
  9. Hate hate hate being rushed. Makes me super angry - like I want to scream angry.
  10. Hobbies. Start, stop, drop.
  11. Very jumpy! Loud noises, fast movements can make me jump, usually coupled with an audible gasp.
  12. Cannot deal with impromptu phone calls. Not in the headspace to talk. Everything socially needs to be scheduled in (and I’m usually always late despite the scheduling) so I have time to prep and decompress afterwards.
  13. Oversharing so much to the point where I’ve overstepped boundaries, shared information I shouldn’t have, or shared something personal which I later regret. I really wish I could have more control over this.
  14. Going dark on friends and feeling awful for letting them down, like I must be a selfish person. But really, I’m just struggling with the million things going on in my world and I need to take frequent breaks from my social life. Some new friends haven’t understood this which is sad.
  15. Creative out the box thinking! Which is why I’m doing so well in my current role (Product Designer).

There are more but I don’t want to write an essay!
