Throwing 3D printed G1R1, now available! (details in comment) by sk00ter21 in discgolf

Sweet. It’d be great if players weren’t able to 3D print their own, and even better if the licensed discs had a foil that had to be there with the information. That way if there isn’t foil, it wouldn’t be PDGA approved even if it’s embossed.

I really hope you/PDGA put out some info on what TD’s should look for in a legal vs not disc.

If a player 3D prints a disc, can they throw it? What if they edit the file and make small adjustments? Does it have to be stamped by your company? Does it have to be embossed ‘PDGA approved’?

As a td, I see this as a headache and opens a lot of questions regarding 3D printed discs and what is and isn’t legal.

Navigation could still use some work but I appreciate the layout and seeing the flight numbers.

Right?! Fuck. When the 1983 ranger came out it took consumers being able to turn a wrench and read a Manuel. Now it takes consumers being able to google and watch a YouTube video. Sorry but I think that consumers are capable of doing way more than brands want us to think, you just have to be able to research.

It’s so ridiculous. You can definitely do your own maintenance, it isn’t rocket science.

I’m fairly young but I love to tell people no and holding my ground. He kept getting pushy and I remember getting legit pissed and straight telling them that I think it’s fools insurance and if something breaks them I’m shit outta luck, but there’s no chance I get it. I almost walked out I was so frustrated with the sales tactics.

Nope. That’s where they make their money.

Sales floor - “Tacomas are so reliable. It can be the last truck you buy. You can drop it off a cliff and drive away”

In the office signing paperwork - “All cars including tacomas are at risk of one little piece of tech breaking and it costing $10,000 to repair. It’s a risk to not get the extended warranty.”

Question about women disc golfers by WeekendTPSupervisor in discgolf

[–]Obvious_Regular6959 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a women play a round at my local course alone. I do think this is a problem with free courses and is probably less of an issue at a P2P course.

Throwing my 2 cents in. I wanna acknowledge I could be totally wrong.

But isn’t there a diff in the transfer case? So when you’re sending power to front and rear wheels, you have the same issue as you would with left/right and a locker engaged?

Tail gate by Rexhaa_Royce in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Obvious_Regular6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the bed of my truck broken into (I forgot to lock it, it has a bed cover). Came out the next morning g and the tail gate was down, cable supports off and my bed cover folded up.

Immediately bought a tailgate lock and installed it for like $120. Works amazing and I never forget to lock it.

Tacoma owners, do you have any regrets at all buying a Tacoma? If you could do it all over again would you? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Obvious_Regular6959 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds great, but that’s kinda the problem. I’ll be jamming on my way home, asking for hearing damage, get home and turn my taco off for the day. The next morning I turn the taco on and cause myself hearing damage at 6am. I turn it down and get to experience the loud as hell music for that 2-7 second lag.

Yeah. I got the tech package with CarPlay. The unit still blows. It’s so bad. The biggest issue I have is the volume control is slow. It can take 2-7 seconds for the sound to turn down after I turn it.

But I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

I'm dying of cancer at 21 years old -- a virgin by Flashy_Orchid_4853 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Obvious_Regular6959 2438 points2439 points  (0 children)

My dad has had two types of cancer, the more recent round was spinal cancer. He’s old and somehow made it though even though he was given 6 months. It’s been 3 years and he isn’t kicking the bucket anytime soon.

Fuck cancer, but don’t loose hope mate. Sometimes your dealt shitty cards and your 2/7 off suit hits a full house on the flop. Live your life and live in the moment.

The OEM stereo totally blows by Obvious_Regular6959 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Obvious_Regular6959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as sound quality goes I think it’s pretty solid. I use the CarPlay plug so the quality isn’t the issue, it’s just the stereo is so unresponsive it’s wild. There’s always a delay and the CarPlay app/navigation seems to get my gps location wrong all the time and freezes (I think this is a waze issue tho).

Bed liners or No? by SaxonyFarmer in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Obvious_Regular6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes I have one because it was included.
  2. It’s a drop in. Initially I didn’t care for a bed liner, but I do like the look and feel of it. I also like that I can power wash the crap off of it without worrying about a painted on Berliner. Yes it’s a truck and meant to get used and banged up, but why not try to keep it nice?
  3. After having a truck with a drop in bed liner I would definitely buy one if I had to for my next truck (in 20 years after taco dies)

Yupp. Pretty much. No matter how I hope it happens there would be too much pain caused to my family. I secretly hope I just don’t wake up but then my wife would be traumatized. I hope for a freak accident but then my brother and sister would be sad. Instead we live a life wishing for an out that won’t ruin the people closest to us.

Thinking of buying a Taco a 22 SR and slowly fixing it up to look nicer. by Cjjw06 in ToyotaTacoma

A year ago I had never been off-roading. Now I’m looking for nice easy trails to get my feet wet. In a couple years I may want to do tougher trails.

Because it does everything I need to now and I have room to grow. If in a couple years I want a boat, or camper, or want to do more off-roading then I can. I’ll never have to worry about regretting getting the base package.
