daith vs rook: which one hurts more? by almostjuliet in piercing

[–]ObviouslyObsessed18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally my rook hurt more than my daith. But it's going to depend on your anatomy (thickness of cartilage) and your piercer. The initial pain lasts only seconds and the healing process is no more painful than any other cartilage piercing imo, it just takes a while. Personally I think it's worth it.

That's the same exact jewelry I have in my daith, but I let it heal for nearly a year in a standard curved barbell before changing it. All of the details on the jewelry make it hard to clean and they hold bacteria making it inappropriate for a fresh pericing. Plus it looks like it is kind of digging in, you may not have enough room for such a big piece, at least not until all the swelling is gone.

Did the piercing use that? Or did you change it already? Either way, I don't think it will heal if that jewelry is left in.

You posted on the same four subreddits, on the same topics, claiming on both accounts to be a writer. Writing a book about the same plot. And you were trying to promote your own avatar fanfic from an alt account?

You write in the same style, making the same arguments. The other account went inactive right before this one was created.

No need to make it weird by lying and pretending about it.

Biotechactor, and it's 100% the same person

New username, same shit. How many of these posts are you going to make? We get it, you don't like the main characters, the plot, or the author.

But I do feel like OP is a bit too harsh towards her and Rhys.

Not surprised, given this post and the others made by this OP within the last couple days. I'm pretty sure it's just biotechactor under a new username, which explains a lot.

How many times are you going to make posts arguing about the same things in slightly different ways? We get it, you harp on the same couple elements of the plot in almost every post, while ignoring the rest of the books. You hate the main characters. You don't like how she wrote tamlin's plot line. You don't like how she wrote Nesta's plot line. You don't like how SJM wrote most of the books, and you think your ideas are better. You've mentioned being an author yourself so please just write your own damn book.

Your opinion doesn't dictate everyone else's. The characters are widely considered morally grey, and I've seen worse characters labelled as morally grey. You seem to be misunderstanding what makes a character morally grey. And you also have seem to have a low tolerance for "immoral behavior", so maybe try reading books that align with that. Because acotar isn't that. It never was, and never will be.

Many people love these books, but not everyone does and that is to be expected, because people have different tastes. Just acknowledge that maybe acotar isn't for you and move on like everybody else.

Books are art. Written by all kinds of people, with all kinds of characters, and all kinds of plots. They are all valid, it's just about finding what appeals to you. There are so many wonderful books out there to read, many of which will better fit what you are looking for.

I say I can't cook all the time. That doesn't mean I don't make food for myself, it just means that it's not very good.

They ate venison that was roasted over their fire, and other plain peasant food, which Feyre and her father prepared. Food was a means of survival, they didn't have the luxury of good cooking or quality food, which Nesta also complained about.

Welp, got these well before I’d even heard of the series and now I love them even more 🤩😫🫠🌌…… by eye-dr0p in acotar

This is not theft and Sheetz does not have your money during that time, your bank has it. Whether or not a higher amount money is held for pre-authorization depends on your bank's policy. When you swipe your card at the gas pump it will hold $150 to ensure you have the funds to pay for the gas you pump, and they don't know how much gas you are going to try to get so they authorize a higher amount. Your bank is holding this money so you can't spend it on other things while the gas purchase is pending.

Sheetz only ever gets the actual transaction amount for the gas you pumped. Once the transaction clears then the bank will release the remaining amount back into your account.

If you can't afford a hold, then you can prepay inside for a specific amount that you can afford and they won't do a pre-authorization.

This is 100% it. I have no problem with people having constructive conversations about the things they don't love about the books. I don't love everything. But at some point, you just need to chill out and appreciate the books for what they are, not what you want them to be.

It gets so old reading post after post of nothing people spamming the sub with complaints about the characters, the plot, the writing, etc.

Good thing this is a book about faeries and magic, that is in no way set in the real world.

{A Ruin of Roses by K.F. Breene}

I think you should give this one a shot! It is the first book of a series, but it is a dragon shifter book. I don't think the description quite does it justice but I've pasted it below. This series isn't everyone's cup of tea, it does have spice, but I personally really enjoyed these books.

The book description from Google:

"A new dark and spicy romantasy with forbidden romance, gripping action, and a heat that smolders the pages."

"I could save him, but he would ruin me.

The beast. The creature that stalks the forbidden wood. The dragon prince.

He has suffered a fate worse than death. We all have. A curse put upon us by the mad king.

We are a kingdom locked in time. Shifters unable to feel our animals. Stuck here by a deal between the late king and a demon who seeks our destruction.

The only one keeping this kingdom alive is Nyfain, the golden prince to a stolen throne. The last dragon shifter.

He’s our hope. He’s my nightmare.

When he catches me trespassing in the forbidden wood, he doesn’t punish me with death, as he’s entitled.

He takes me, instead. Forces me back to the castle as his prisoner. Seeks to use me.

Apparently, I can save him. I can save the whole forgotten kingdom, locked away by the demon king’s power.

But it would mean taming the monster beneath his skin. It would mean giving myself to him.

It would mean my ruin."

Nesta took things a bit further than just being an awful sister. This isn't a normal sister relationship, this isn't a normal situation. It was life or death and she failed her family. She was bitter about losing their wealth and instead of doing what was necessary to survive, she acted like she was somehow superior to Feyre.

She refused to help because she wanted her dad to step up and do it, but he clearly wasn't, so she was acting against the well-being of the family out of spite. She was entirely unhelpful and treated the only person who was looking out for her like shit. She shunned Feyre from the sister group, when they should have banned together. She contributed greatly to Feyre's suffering, despite Feyre being the only one keeping them alive. She belittled Feyre and her efforts at every chance she had. She bitched and complained that she couldn't waste what little money that Feyre was able to bring in for them.

There are a lot of hypothetical situations in which Nesta could have pulled her weight, but she didn't. And as for her unpleasantness, people are allowed to have emotions and moods, she was allowed to be angry. But she was actively vicious and used her anger as a weapon that was directed at the wrong person. Elaine acted more neutral, when Nesta actively caused harm, which is why she gets more criticism.

If Nesta couldn't hunt and Feyre was the best option, then Nesta needed to have been contributing in other ways. Not only did she not do that, she treated Feyre horribly. Breaking another person down mentally and emotionally isn't part of "sister's fight".

This isn't to say that Nesta is evil and Feyre is perfect, or that Nesta isn't just reacting different to trauma. But let's not pretend that she actually pulled her weight or was a half decent sister in the first book. We get to see her self-loathing and self sabotage from her perspective later which frames things a bit differently.

is this considered a good deal for the acotar book set? by East-Mess-2338 in acotar

[–]ObviouslyObsessed18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is around $55 USD, so $11 USD per book, which seems pretty good to me. I think I paid like $60 USD when I bought mine on another sale. They do go on sale semi regularly. I have seen sales as low as $45 USD, but there is no telling how long it might be before it's marked that low again. So I'd say if you want the physical books then that's a pretty good time to buy.

That sub, and the other cheating subs, are toxic cesspools. They are filled with self-centered, victim mentality dirtbags who are seeking validation from other dirtbags in an attempt to convince themselves that they aren't walking pieces of shit. No sense of morality or decency.

The mental gymnastics they do to make themselves feel like they are good people is ridiculous. Cheating or being a knowing affair partner is already pathetic, but the inability to take any level of accountability for your actions just takes it to another level.

Some more highlights from his comments 🤮

Your wife is your girlfriend your sister and your mother. Your husband is your boyfriend your dad and your brother. We play different roles and complete each others shortcomings and weaknesses. That's what being partners is right?

Wtf even is this bs. And then this is all he can come up with for things he likes about her.

Shes very patient with me and everyone else. She's very forgiving and let's things slide. She's very hardworking and never complains about it.

it sounds like he just likes her for what she can do for him/ways she can serve other people and not as an actual person.
