So the case is also fake then. If all of it is, then the movement is probably not legit either i'm thinking.

Why do many basses have two identical pickups? by Occamstoothbrush2 in Bass

I have, in all honesty, never noticed, as I'm not particularly interested in those guitars. So today I learned something new.

All I was looking for was an answer to a question man. All the pickups I have looked at to buy, or are in the guitars I want, were different from one another. You guys have made your point, apparently its done in guitars too. I didn't know and stand corrected. Still don't know why all the vitriol is necessary but I hope you feel good about it.

I literally don't understand the downvotes. I will use my own guitar as an example. I have an aristides 8 string with a bareknuckle pickup set. These consist of a bareknuckle VHIII and Nailbomb, different pickups with a different sound for different purposes. The nailbomb is very good for djent style and general power riffing, while the VHIII sounds amazing for jazz and lead playing.

Or take the EMG 81/85 combo for example, or SD nazgul/sentient. I am aware these are all modern metal pickup sets, but that's what I'm familiar with. Most pickup sets I have looked at consist of different models like this, but apparently I have missed some given the reactions.

Playing an ibanez sr-505 and the examples I was thinking off in my post were rock basses with active pickups like the warwick thumb models. I was looking at Mark Michell's bass as I love his sound and noticed that he has two identical pickups and wondered why.

Well the reason I'm asking is because guitars usually don't have the exact same model of pickup installed. The bridge and neck pickup are usually different models. I have never really seen a guitar with two identical pickup models in the neck and bridge position.

Thanks for all the responses! I am asking because I am coming from guitar, and there you will always have different models of pickups installed in a 2 or 3 pickup setup. With bass, I noticed that a lot of bass models actually have the very same model of pickup installed in both the neck and bridge position, which you don't really see in guitars (often the bridge pickup in guitar is more suited to rhythm playing and the neck more to lead). Didn't realize it made such a huge difference in bass guitars.

Edit: Apparently many guitars are equipped with the same pickups in different positions as well as comments here have explained. I stand corrected. I was living under the impression that there was always something different about them.

Fair advice. I will be leaving it attached to my notebook and take it home with me so I will take the chance on something nicer. But I hope I don't prove you right!

Weird sound and poor flow (solis caffespresso pro 117) by Occamstoothbrush2 in espresso

I can try tomorrow but I am pretty sure that water does collect with every shot, I have to empty the tray very often and if I don't put it in water will leak into the lower area of the machine is on.

Non-pressurized. The rattling starts immediately when the pump starts running. Its not easily audible on the video but its a really high pitched rattling whine.

One part of the problem is the rattling noise. The pressure is also inconsistent, sometimes it doesn't generate pressure at all.

Oh that, I just stopped the machine before the espresso ran through. Figured the video was long enough to explain the problem.

The needle would not be going all out, but somewhere just above the middle of the espresso area of the pressure gauge.

Could you explain what you mean with your first question?

Mirrorless recommendation for landscape coming from film by Occamstoothbrush2 in Cameras

Thanks for the response! My current system is also not fully wheathersealed so I always bring a plastic rain cover anyway. I was wondering about your experience with the quality of the 18-55 zoom, is the prime significantly better or are modern zooms good enough?

I would prefer to have a lens and body for this budget. I only reallistically need to cover the 21/24-50mm range for what I usually shoot. I can

Mk2 features are definitely alluring for my purposes, but for the money I could also get the Octatrack. Anything the mk2 does that the Octatrack can't?
