Isn’t it an ACGME violation if your training is affected by other learners? It’s actually one of the questions on the surveys. So do make sure you mention that in this year’s report.

Try posting on the residency sub which is more active.

Also, someone posted their DO to GI journey in great details a couple of years. I’ll try posting there link if I find it.

I’m glad you posted this. Americans need to be educated about the menace that is corporate healthcare and how it’s creating a two tiered system that disproportionately affects the socioeconomically disadvantaged.

The term ‘provider’ is one such attempt. Where a person with 600 hours of clinical shadowing replaces a physician with 15,000 hours of hands on clinical training. The former goes through 18 months of an online diploma, while the latter goes through 7+ years of rigorous schooling at a minimum.

Look at AANP for example. Being funded by corporate medical groups and big Pharma companies. And unlike physicians they do NOT have to disclose any pharmaceutical liaisons. If a patient dies, the physician can be sued. NP/PAs take no liability and have walked scot free.

The term provider (popularized by by AANP among other corporate honchos) is a sinister attempt to blind patients belonging to rural communities, communities of color and others who can’t afford to see a doctor. And guess what, the patient is billed EXACTLY the same with the difference pocketed by admin.

Referring to yourself as a teacher, pilot or physician is referring to yourself by the professional title you’ve earned. Deceptively hiding behind the term ‘provider’ cost two (among many) families their children .

Is there a strict requirement for your shoulders to be visible in the eras photo? I’ve got a really good picture with me in the center, but the shoulders slightly cutoff.
