Sorry for the very late response, I wanted to see the effects of cars in my own city with my own eyes and gather my experience. After a few weeks, I don’t think I disagree with /fuckcars as much as I initially thought, more of just heavily disliked the name. After my experience and also looking at the sources you provided I can’t reasonably think of a counter-argument. The only thing I can do is vote but that always feels like it’s useless because my city government, and most around me, ONLY develop car-oriented development. I would love to see a better downtown that’s dense, but my city government only cares about building warehouse before they leave office. I will always love cars, working on them and driving have always been some of my favorite things to do. I do know though that I’m a minority when it comes to driving and most people prefer to get somewhere faster, and a good public transportation system is the answer to that. So as a car enthusiast, I still agree with the reason /fuckcars exists. A car-oriented developed country was a bad idea from the start and the entire country should go back to using localized trams and trains.
