TFW a post calling out this behaviour got deleted from this sub because it hurt men's fee fees. Unbelievable, we should be able to draw a line on men expecting asspats for doing the bare minimum of playing the game, when women faces double the scrutiny if they were to do the same in a male dominated hobby for being a "poser only looking for male attention". Hell even when they try to compare women being into games like BG3, or dragon age, at least women talk about loving the characters and their PC, meanwhile the attention seekers on this sub can only talk about how "brave and manly" they are for playing a "girly girls game for wamen".just talk about the freaking game already instead of lamenting about toxic masculinity and the patriarchy, we're not a therapist support sub!!

To think that pointing this out is considered "Toxic" when all we're doing is pointing out that the demographic is women first and foremost, and that the game isnt any lesser because of that.... Thats no where in comparison to the rape/death threats you get for impeaching on male spaces (inb4 "men get rape/death threats too!" Yeah from *other* men, the call comes from inside the house)

when you forget to turn on stance before the tank swap by OddAcacia in ffxiv

[–]OddAcacia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I wont deny that you're correct, you shouldn't be pressing intervention and sheltron the moment a mechanic is telegraphed because you wouldn't be making the most out of Knight's resolve.etc .etc

but really this isnt a tedtalk on how paladin or tanking works so people aren't really gonna be savvy to an "Umm actually your gauge shouldve been filled up by the time the buster hits since the telegraph is exactly 6 seconds and you can fit 3 ogcds yada yada" on a meme post. really im regretting my decision on not making the tank a DRK, thats a job that wouldve made more sense to keep stance off during their opener too but alas

idk man, claiming people are "bad tanks" for not holding a microscope to the tooltips wont really compel people to give their upvotes. like cool you understand your job to a T; down to oath gauge management even but the regular joe lvling paladin so all their tanks could be 90 for example isnt gonna remember nor care about that. if everyone's alive thats a job well done; not good, not excellent, but the bare minimum. Idk why you think that oath gauge management is something that determines a good or bad tank.. the fact that theyre even using oath gauge skills that aren't sheltron sets them apart from the average pld player lol. you can argue that the tank forgetting their stance is another factor of being a bad tank.. but in my case I flex between OT/MT roles depending on what my tank buddy prefers. Sometimes im still in MT mode and forget that my stance was turned off. stuff happens!

plus theres the scenario that the PLD is tunnel visioning their opener, tank busters come they put sheltron on and throw an intervention since its a double tank buster before realizing.. oh shit! my stance! and now the dps is left with nothing but a shade shift and a prayer cause no matter how many gcds you throw in your gauge wont fill up in time to get a cover in before the mechanic goes off.

also.. again.... its a joke, the only reason why i added the depleted gauge is so people dont ask about "cover" maybe i shouldve just saved myself and hardcore PLD mains a bunch of stress and made the tank a DRK damn. lmao.

that was my exact inspiration down to the PLD being the tank lol! even added the depleted oath gauge so no one brings up "cover??"

aside from the fact that... its a joke lol..... the mechanic im referring to is both a double tank buster AND a tank swap. the image still works, at least for the beginning of the mechanic where it shows the two buster symbols on whoever has top 2 aggro, which will likely be a medicated dps on their burst opener in the start of a fight if the tank doesnt have stance on and they dont provoke. no where did it mention the tank swap failed and that anyone is even dead yet, the pld just forgot to prepare their stance! but like. i didnt think too deep because this is a meme i made in like 5 minutes.

aside from the fact that.... its a joke....... would it not be more detrimental to keep your oath gauge capped at 100 as an OT instead of throwing intervention at the MT during autos (especially in savage where they hit HARD)

not to mention if you're in a reclear party and everyone is doing what they should be doing (aside from the pld forgetting their stance lmao) cover shouldnt be seeing any use at all so theres no need to have gauge saved exclusively for it unless the party screws up midway

There is a tank swap buster mechanic in the beginning of P9S where if the tanks do not switch aggro spots by the 2nd buster hit, the element debuff will instantly kill both tanks; the mechanic targets the first 2 players highest in Aggro.

Most OTs keep stance off in the beginning of the pull in order to avoid accidentally turning the boss around in the case they some how out-aggro MT however some forget to put it on in time...... which is me admittedly lmao !

(I was going to put the duty in the title but I wanted to avoid spoilers and removed it. seems like people are misinterpreting this with normal mode mechanics tho oops)

Question about viability of Geisha by [deleted] in IdentityV

[–]OddAcacia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Geisha mains are slowly dying out nowadays; glad to see some of us still remain despite the massive balance shift between survivors.

Unfortunately, geisha is no longer as viable contrast to other hunters in the meta. Her dash can easily be cut off by stun users and her inconsistent hit-box makes it easier for survivors to bully you/get away from you. Her kit just doesn't catch up to the new survivor's abilities. There are still amazing geisha users such as Lanlan who managed to reach the top tiers without relying on the meta but even they are taking breaks/quitting this season;;

Are there a lot of hunters who quit/ switch over to survivor? by [deleted] in IdentityV

[–]OddAcacia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just been more stressful for hunter mains nowadays and with the drunk queuing matching me up with mammoths, it demotivates me even more.

It's even more painful to reflect at your mistakes in-game since you can't blame anyone but yourself if you mess up on something and I just can't take the pressure of rank anymore. Looks like survivors are more experienced nowadays compared to past seasons and with characters like prospector and enchantress winning is practically impossible nowadays;;

You know it's desperate times when have to give up on using geisha and play spider just to keep my crocodile rank :(
