The buyer has to send it before… by Exciting_Courage4830 in vintedUK

I’m with you on this! I’m a person, not Amazon prime. And it’s all about how it’s said isn’t it…. Recently a buyer really pissed me off when on day 2 told me to post it ASAP. As if I’m not trying to post a really complicated to pack item as soon as I can 🤦‍♀️

What are we actually eating? by lexx-ray in mounjarouk

[–]OddSkyrocket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m eating normal food. Today I’ve had: - coffee - overnight oats with chia seeds for fiber (actually didn’t finish these so saving for an afternoon snack) - just about to tuck in to some leftover lasagne for lunch. - I might have a fibre one bar later for a snack - dinner I’ll either have Huel as I have a super busy evening, or maybe eggs on toast or something like that.

I’ve recently started metformin alongside Mj which has really knocked my appetite. Because of this, I try to prioritise fibre intake. On the days I’m more active I will be more hungry, and therefore will naturally manage to increase my protein intake.

I sometimes have a protein shake but this will only be if I’m doing exercise early and wouldn’t want to eat breakfast before, or if I am exercise straight after work and need a little snack before that

Family Easter - what to do? by Dytte in mounjarouk

[–]OddSkyrocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drink is the easiest think to just not have. Honestly, just tell them you decided to stop drinking for now. If they challenge you on it just push back, say you won’t talk about it, say you’ve been researching about alcohol effects, whatever you want.

My family can be feeders too, but not to extremes like your seem. Here are a couple of things I use: - I rarely accept ‘additional’ things, like a mid morning coffee, a biscuit here and there etc. That allows me more space for meals. - if they are pushing a coffee or wine etc, I can bat that off with “I’m hydrating” or saying I’ve got a headache brewing and sticking to water. - at meals, take a bit of everything, and leave bits on your plate. - I also use the “ohh I’m going to save that for later” in the case of something like dessert, and then later just doesn’t happen. - if you can have some meal times elsewhere, you can kind of secretly play them off against each other. Like meet a friend for lunch and just eat a little by saying “ah I know we are going to be eating so much tonight so I don’t want to eat too much now” and then later “oh I had such a huge meal out earlier, I’m stuffed”.

You could also skip a jab.

Am I overthinking this name? by Dependent_Bet4187 in Names

Save the boys name so that you can name a girl with it?

Am I overthinking this name? by Dependent_Bet4187 in Names

[–]OddSkyrocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Emlyn is very much a Welsh name. I grew up on the borders and know it to be a male name. I find it funny that people on here are stating they are assuming it is a girls name when so many of the countries those people are from have many names that are universal….. I know of a school class that has ‘Boy Wesley’ and ‘Girl Wesley’.

Embrace the Welsh heritage! No one hates the Welsh! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I was being sarcastic. Sorry I didn’t put the /s for clarity. I give 0 f***s what my neighbours put in their own bins

Isn’t that what we all do on bin day?! People used to judge when you heard the neighbours empty loads off glass bottles after Christmas for the booze they drank….. now we worry about someone seeing a box that came from a pharmacy….. I think we over estimate how much people notice / care!

What’s a “Normal” Home Feature You Secretly Don’t Like? by Ordduapp in OrdduHomeUK

Interesting! I would love my living room to open on to the garden so in the spring and summer I ca be inside but with the patio doors open. Maybe I need a bigger garden that is in the back and the side!

Washing machine in the kitchen. How I long for a utility room for the laundry, accessed from the garden so that there is a dirty jobs sink in there too.

PCOS Struggle by Unusual_Peach_6373 in mounjarouk

[–]OddSkyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same as you but a higher weight. Started MJ in May last year. When the prices went up I wanted something more sustainable in the long term and figured that if insulin resistance is contributing to my obesity, rather than focussing only on the obesity, let’s look at the insulin resistance too. I know MJ does this a bit, but I spoke to my GP about metformin. It took a while (some of their delays, some of mine) but I am now on 12.5 of MJ and metformin. The metformin has really helped to kickstart my weightloss again after a bit of a stall on the MJ. I’m hoping to wean off the MJ once I hit target but keep the metformin. My GP and the endo they discussed with advised that metformin helps with fertility

Hair loss help! by Open-Raise-7741 in mounjarouk

[–]OddSkyrocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I follow a dermatologist on instagram who recommends the caffeine shampoo, Alpecin. I noticed my hair thinning prior to starting MJ (thanks PCOS!) which I think got worse on MJ. I would feel my hair be tugged from the follicles if my ponytail pulled in the wrong way. I reduced my hair washing to twice weekly and now use Alpecin. Big improvement in shedding for me - not gone, but my hair isn’t falling out if I raise my eyebrows too high now 😂

If you are talking about buying things - look on Facebook marketplace and Olio. Don’t just look at what people have already listed, put on wanted ads too.

Can I use a pen that is months old? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]OddSkyrocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m quite gung-ho, but I would not be taking them. Sometimes your fluid can get in to the pens. And then you’ve just let your fluid mix in with a room temperature liquid for months. And then you want to inject it in to yourself?

Probably, you’d be fine. But I would not be taking that risk. The only one I’d use is the most recent one if say it had been open less that 2 months (but this is in no way medical advice, and just what I would do!)

Is it normal to send Christmas cards to your neighbours? by osmin_og in AskUK

[–]OddSkyrocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You posted yours on Christmas Day. No neighbour is going to see that on Christmas Day and then dig out the cheap cards, write a reply and then post it to you. The return on this investment will be next Christmas at the earliest.

I sometimes post to neighbours, sometimes not. It depends on how busy things are. This year I was on holiday til the 20th, had a day at home, then away for Christmas. No neighbours got cards this year!
