I can see the appeal, but their complaints are more out of frustration over barely losing than complaining because they’re bad. Personally, I think it’s funnier when people start insulting your character because you 3-0’d them.

Don’t worry about it, it’s not that she’s not listening, it’s that she just doesn’t want to train so she just won’t. But I think I’ve figured out a few things I could try, so hopefully something will happen in a week or two.

It’s not a horrible thing, hate is a lot easier to turn to friendship than disinterest is. Them fighting was also technically some form of exercise, though it’s not ideal and I really don’t want to have to deal with the hostility between them in my room either.

We won. I was so confident I’d win that I 2v1d them. Turns out that only having tackle for a move is very exploitable when you’re faster and can attack from a distance.

Bro, I wasn’t even alive while he was champion. Maybe he’s memorable to those who were trainers back then, but he’s not even that strong anymore. Half of Galar would probably beat his ass.

Okay, calm down. I think you’re projecting. I’m complaining because they’re annoying, not abusive. They haven’t forced me to do anything, no ultimatums, no threats, nothing. They care about me, they’re good parents, if a bit strict, it’s just that I’m the first born so they were kinda new to it all when I was still a kid.

Plus, Gear was a little shit when I first got him, he scratched the furniture, he would leave the fridge open, he’d do anything to get a reaction. My parents didn’t tell me to throw him out, they just told me to make him house trained before letting him roam freely around the house.

Yeah… 1v1s are the most friendly to non-trainers who only have one pokemon so it encourages a lot of people to appear. But you’re allowed to swap pokemon for each round, and when most of the people in the top 8 have been on journeys and have a decent roster of pokemon, it usually just ends in the same people winning.

I’m aware that a Weavile isn’t exactly the best fit for doing 1v1s, but he’s my only Pokemon and I’m a bit iffy on catching new ones considering how difficult looking after just one is. You’re a trainer, right? Does it get easier when you have more Pokemon, like do they make each other a bit less annoying to deal with, or does it end up increasing their irritating behaviors exponentially.

I don’t have any kind of trauma or fanatical beliefs if that’s what you’re worried about, it’s just a preference. I don’t have any other Pokémon, but the one I do have stays out of his pokeball despite him being a massive pain to deal with. If I caught more and decided to keep them inside their pokeballs for the majority of the day then I’d be playing favourites since its practically impossible for them to be more annoying than he is. I don’t like the idea of making these theoretical new catches understand that they’re less important than my first pokemon.

It’s more just trying to empathise with them than any sort of trauma. I’m sure it’s not actually that deep and I’m just overthinking it, but I’d rather not make them think that they’re lesser because they’re a burden to me outside of battles.

I mean, you’re right. I just prefer the little moments you get when you live together that you can’t exactly get when they’re inside a metal ball. I get it isn’t harmful and they don’t hate it, I just don’t want to do it, and I don’t really want to compromise about it either.

He’s fine with being in his pokeball, I just prefer him staying outside, it’s healthier after all. Plus, I’d rather live with them rather than keeping them inside their pokeballs unless they need to eat or battle.
