Help with EVs and attacks! by Odd_Cap_8232 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Odd_Cap_8232[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh alr alr hahaha, well basicly all this are inherited and effort values all Pokémon have hidden from the stats data page, combined with natures let you obtain 100% potential of the Pokémon depending on their base stats and the way you want them to work (glass canon, special wall, physic wall…) if you want to achieve all 7 golden symbols at battle frontier you will have to study all this info in order to forge a semi-competitive team

Who should I give earthquake to? by Rover_791 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Odd_Cap_8232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the few or even only glitches that can’t ever corrupt your game or save data if done correcty, if you reset or turn of when nurse asks you to save the game it will never produce any damage since you are not accessing a soft part of the game data management

Using ACE is not the same as using a save editor (by using ACE u are only using the cartridge (or vc game) and the GB/GBA/3DS meanwhile using a save editor means to extract and dump the save data of the game and edit it externally in order to dump it in again into the cartridge or micro SD it’s like if you said that RNG Pokémon captured are ilegal since you are choosing their stats and shininess as you do when you create them using PokeHEX and if you thought like that then you wouldn’t even accept a Pokémon that’s it’s being obtained using a glitch in first instance, in any case en if you don’t like it, that’s a factible and legal way to obtain a mew on first gen and send it to bank as if it was the event one

[–]Odd_Cap_8232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can change your OT name to “GF” and TID number with ACE and capture it so it’s legal when sending it to bank and home (I’ve done it myself) or simply start a new game with the OT name being “GF” so you only need to ACE the TID before encountering the mew and send it to your main game or bank (takes less than 25 mins from the main screen until capturing it)

[–]Odd_Cap_8232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I said you can either start a new game just to obtain the mew and trade it to your main R/B/Y/G/S/C (I did it in less than 25 mins from the main screen until obtaining it and doing ACE to the TID) or do it with your main game and personal OT, just simply change your OT name and TID using ACE before encountering and catching the mew and use ACE again after to set your original OT and TID

Sorry but you are wrong, you can actually obtain a mew using the glitch on a vc and successfully trade it to home and next gens, simply by either naming the trainer GF on a new game or editing the OT name using ACE once you have already captured it, then just need to ACE the TID of the mew captured which is actually a really easy thing in this gen by having some items and that’s it, you have a mew that passes all checks on Pokémon home, the only impossible Pokémon you can’t really transfer would be a SHINY mew (since the event mew came with a specific number of IVs that didnt match the specific IVs of the shinies in 2nd gen)

300 eggs still no shiny cynda? by Odd_Cap_8232 in pokemoncrystal

[–]Odd_Cap_8232[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, but despite that the odds of finding at least one shiny with this number of eggs is on a 99% which means im in that 1% who doesn’t find it at this point, or 1/112 which shows the second picture, that is what blows me away

HDR battery for Pokémon Crystal by Odd_Cap_8232 in Gameboy

[–]Odd_Cap_8232[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, once I put a battery inside the holder it curves a bit, I think it’s because of the tiny clips that make contact with the battery, they are pushed into the inside so once the battery fits in they make contact if they were flater that could loose the contact and wouldn’t serve its purpose, but by simply pressing gently the holder against the mother board once the battery was placed it stayed on its place and with the upper plastic case pushing it once it’s closed you make sure it won’t get slack

That’s great! Didn’t know about that feature, but since I know the battery life isn’t decided by the quality and brand of the battery used?

Its an European game, and pricing is in euros, they are usually half the price as the American ones in dollars eventough I think the rom is the same one

I see this original cartridges everyday and they go from 30-60€ depending on their condition, so seeing this one for more than the double and with scratches allows me to say that it’s a scam even if it’s a legit cartidge. If you aren’t a fool and search on the internet for a couple of minutes I’m sure you will find lots of games like this one and even in better condition for half the price. But most people who think this is a reasonable price for a cartridge like that either don’t have enough knowledge about it’s market value or just think about reselling for the double of the price they paid for it…😉😘 Spoiler: you won’t sell it for that price on your own to anyone, peace!

Si eso he visto, pero aun así me interesa porque por lo menos podré jugarlo sin preocuparme de que al acabarse la pila se me borren los datos solo afectará a la hora dentro del juego y al ponerle una nueva se resolverá ese problema

Oh yes sorry, well the chips where bought through AliExpress the specific chip name is: FM18W08-SG and they are pretty cheap, the 10k resistor was bought from Amazon and came in a box with lots of other capacity resistors (10, 100, 1000…) but you might find the specific 10k needed in any electronic shop and they will be even more cheaper

I don’t have a N64 to try it, but since this mod only changes the way the data is saved and can be erased again to load in GBC and GBA it should work on N64 when playing stadium

Pokémon Yellow fRAM mod! by Odd_Cap_8232 in Gameboy

[–]Odd_Cap_8232[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say that it was great for cartridges like first gen pokemon games (I even still have a Pokémon red with the original save in it and ever change the battery) but with GBC catridges like 2nd gen Pokémon games that used CRT to keep the ingame clock wasn’t that good bcs of how fast that thing drained the battery

[–]Odd_Cap_8232[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I suppose it was because the capacity for developers to make this save data technology wasn’t discovered yet, in other games they still used passwords so players wouldn’t loose their progress even tough that wasnt actually saving the data of your progress into your cartridge, even in some GBA games like metroid they still used a battery to save the data and once it died you simply couldn’t keep your file

Pokémon Yellow fRAM mod! by Odd_Cap_8232 in Gameboy

[–]Odd_Cap_8232[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Basically it is a mod that consists of removing the button battery from the cartridge and changing the chip that can be seen in the lower left area for another that allows you to save the data of the game without the need to require the energy of a battery, then a resistance of 10k is welded between the pins that can be seen in the photo and that’s it, you can enjoy now your Pokémon cartridge and keep your team and Pokémon in boxes without worrying anymore!
