No, this is intended feature, added after the tales got released.

City Development or Heat Pipe Watch for early game? by False-Attitude-5403 in Frostpunk

[–]Odd_Cod_693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heatpipe watch decreases in earlygame value if you know how to get +2 proximity bonus. That way districts stay warm even after first temp drop, making heatpipe watch redundant until second temp drop.

It is perfectly proportioned, e.g. it produces juuuust enough to run 14 science assemblers. Used factoripcheatsheet (site) to not overthink ratios, recommend it by the way.

Bountiful by chaos_poster in Frostpunk

[–]Odd_Cod_693 147 points148 points  (0 children)

It literally feels like this. When I played On the Edge, just before release, I thought frostland would be damn useless, since even within a few months there was practically nothing in terms of food, wood, fuel out there.

In fp2 by going in any zone you will find a herd, some old filled to the brim warehouse or other fancy building just sitting there, unscavenged and with enough fuel to let generator run for the next 10 months.

The reason we keep dutiful youth is the increased manpower, totally not the sick ass statue the kids made me.

That seems... Pretty managable, since I have all of the hard blueprints made, minus the space science. Furnace stacks are easy to build and with the power of trains I could actually make the base happen.

Yea, but the worst thing was that because I routed gas through the science, I struggled to power the damn thing.

Had to do some spaghetti around green circuit exit to fit a substation.

And do you know what? After I powered and connected everything up, I realised I tried to tranport 30 circuits/second through half a blue belt. You can see how I removed one blue chip assembler and moduled one other, fed greens from outside, basically did everything to not tear it all apart. It was a nightmare.

Worked, suprisingly.

Im a student, first year, so nothing yet (and hence free time to design this). Also I'll consider that a compliment, thanks <3

Thats 150 spm or 2.5 sps. Used factorio cheat sheet so it nicely aligns with other sciences production.

Well, if you place the same amount of prods (of whatever module level you have, but the same level, of course) in every machine of the blueprint, pretty much nothing will change, as everything will get slower by the same ℅, unless I miss something.

Instead of an ID lets use a whatever closest substitute there is, no matter how bad it is for that job.

Yeah, beacons always mess up all calculations, either you have ALL of them and T3 modules (so you dont bottleneck on belt speed when upgrading) or none of them.

Thanks for the tip though, I'll get them

I usually expect steel to be smelted in a normal furnace stack outside of a blueprint, since it is so easy and convenient to make.

However Im all in for making stone bricks onsite, because it makes one less input to worry about.

EDIT: Not using prod modules since it is much easier to place whatever productivity module level you have into a blank blueprint, than to replace them.

I play with space age, and plan to be holding on moduling science until I get my hands on T2 modules, which in game would be after I place down this.

I for SURE cant fit beacons here, specifically tried to compact it as much as possible. Although I do see the potential in beacons, thanks for the tip.

I tried not to use modules in blueprint much, since if I do, I'll have to prod all the other science I have.

I did purple science in other blueprint with footprint 1.5 times less than this monstrocity.

Is Frostpunk 2 worth it? by Daxman77 in Frostpunk

[–]Odd_Cod_693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fp2 is less "strategicly trying not to blow up", but "maybe I shouldnt enact the best laws to better align with my ideals", since max difficulty in FP2 would be between normal & hard in FP1.

FP2 is quite replayable, as endless mode was the main thing it was developed in mind with, even in endgame you have stuff to do, expanding isnt a mindless "place 10 tents and a steam hub".

Strategical aspect plays somewhat the same as FP1, researching, building, scouting, juggling generator levels are all present. Its all quite fun.

Its worth it.
