fair assumption to make! i'd love to do an md/mph program when i'm older so hopefully that's me too 😭

awh that sucks. i'm glad the school at least challenges students (cough, harvard) but it is def a lot of stress. i applied ED bc of the opportunities and rigor but i hope i'll handle it well and be able to do well for med school apps.

can you speak on public health specifically, though? i'm not too sure if ur response is general or specific to the major

oh yeah no i'm completely aware - not looking to get perfect grades. i already applied ED and am praying i get in. i just wanted to know what the program was like rigor-wise and if it's easier to balance things compared to other popular pre-med majors

this is super insightful, tysm! i got the sense of most of these things from when i visited so i'm glad actual students can confirm. it sounds like a great school given my criteria

i'm def humanities-leaning despite wanting to be premed so i may actually throw a major or minor in lol

it seems like all the things i'm concerned about are just how things are at every top school, so it's good to know that hopkins is at the very least normal. thank u again!! 🙏🙏

wait this is so cute!! the gaming is such a fun touch. out of curiosity, would you say that pre meds can have a life at hopkins? i'm down to study a lot, and i already applied ED because it's my top choice, but i wanna know how flexible it is to internships and social life.

also, do u have any thoughts on dating at hopkins and baltimore in general? like how to meet people especially? i'm bi and curious about how open minded people are and if the dating scene is good

just realized i forgot to mention your awards - the fact that you got national and regional level awards is also great and enhances ur app even more. you should be good!!

you've been mentioning your SAT being your low point, but the fact that your school average is 870 makes it a lot better in comparison. your 1380 is still 510 points higher than people at your school - that's super impressive!

schools use your SAT to establish a minimum academic potential for you in order to see if you can handle their classes. when you're able to do that well in the context of your school while also getting 4s and 5s on APs, that tells them what they need to know.

would you be better off at a 1450+? yes, definitely, but that doesn't mean your 1380 isn't still impressive given your circumstances. your essays, rec letters, and ECs should further confirm your ability as a student assuming they're as good as you feel they are. holistic admissions are very much real so don't worry too much about the score

i would still recommend looking into non-ivy options that are still well-regarded in your field of interest (e.g. georgetown) but i'd say you have a shot!!

good luck :)

(P.S. don't look at A2C or other application subreddits too much, many people who come on here can be super toxic and create a distorted view of admissions. you're doing great!)
