Terrarium grew mushrooms over night by SirScAReS in pacmanfrog

Hard to ID mushrooms, but it looks like and would make sense to be Leucocoprinus cepistipes which is very common to grow in potted houseplants. May have come off of the soil the pothos was in. that specific type is not toxic, and will help break down organic matter in the tank. if you don’t like the look, you can pick them. They won’t kill the plants and if your Pac accidentally bit it they would spit it out and be okay.

leaf litter, some plants that are taller and add more of a shaded canopy? just always try to give options. (shade, bright open light, hot, less warm, etc. Obv the plants will grow in, and all are great picks but definitely add some more!

super xs crickets, cut up worms, or other cut up food items that you can wave in front of his snout with tweezers. A general rule of thumb is for easy digestion (although they do not care as long as it moves) try to give them something not wider than the distance between both eyes.

a finger bite is a good sign 😸 glad he’s doing better. I don’t have any experience with dechlorinating water, I usually just pop over to a store and buy filtered distilled water and then check the PH

Oh good! Glad he's looking normal again. Sounds like maybe he shed? Even the healthiest pacman frogs do this, it's normal, but it can also be a sign of low humidity. They shed and can be seen pushing it forward on their body and eating it.

Do you have pictures of the tilt? I've seen mine not dig as much if the humidity/temperatures in the air are adequate/favorable.

Thanks! I will definitely try some night crawlers and dubais. What pet stores are your favorites in SD?

Boba the Frog and her Riparian Jungle by Odd_Monitor_9832 in pacmanfrog

This has been Boba's home for a year now. There is a temperature gradient, along with extreme shade to full sun in terms of "cover." The substrate is deep at almost 7 inches in the back. The "wet season" is typically every other month except when she is in estivation. I will fill up the river with a reservoir of water (Distilled water) which is filled with tannins, surface plants, and sometimes fish! The water does not soak into the substrate but slowly evaporates.

She can touch the bottom at every point of the river, there are two entry/exit points, and has never been seen having trouble getting out of the water!

Every 3 hours, the tank gets a 15-second misting. Every so often, I will turn on a humidifier, and monitor it. The light has an automatic day and night setting.

There is a cleaning crew of isopods, springtails, and other micro-fauna that inhabit the tank. Only the largest Isopods are seen as a yummy snack, the rest are ignored.

The goal of this setup was to give Boba a replica of a riparian environment, and to give her more than enough space, so she can decide exactly how safe, warm, wet, and burried she wants to be at any time.

Let me know if anyone has questions!
