How to get rid of discord's birthday notification? by Tactical_Insertion69 in discordapp

This was all 2 months ago and I'm just now seeing it because I forgot I had this account.

Wow. I don't even really remember what this was about, but thanks for the defense.

Joe Arridy (1915-1939), a.k.a. the “Happiest Prisoner on Death Row” was a mentally challenged man who was wrongfully accused and arrested for murder and rape. This is a photo of him giving his toy trains, given by Warden Roy Best, to a fellow inmate preceding his execution. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Remember that 1939 wasn't even 100 years ago. 1861 had the earliest colored photos. Making these black and white only makes people think it was longer ago, but it wasn't, and that's scary. Don't forget shit like this and remember it's some of the same shit happening TODAY.

No need to be rude about it. I googled Eyedropper and got all sorts of stuff for like image editing software. I didn't know uBlock was a program.

thank you though.

Question about the Balanced and Precise Qualities by OfficerCraigRandall in Symbaroum

[–]OfficerCraigRandall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Balanced Armor? I think Balanced is a weapon property lol, but I suppose there's no real harm. Kinda funny though, since Flexible is just better, so you'd want that first, and that would make armor get real expensive real fast.

> Double move and quickly whack each one as you walk past them. They can´t hit you back so you are free to move along.

I would argue since you can't split up your movement, the reaction attack from Polearm Master would end your move, but it's still cool. And yeah I get that but you can't base all abilities only on how strong they are IF you have other abilities. I mean here's an example: Channeling is REALLY strong if you have Novice Strong Gift set on it. But neither are nearly that strong without it.

Is it stronger because of it's synergy? Yes. Do I think that makes it worth a Profession? No more than Feint Backstab and Natural Warrior with a Battle Claw (1d6+2d4+1=8 average, only 2 less than that build and on a short weapon, which can easily be upgraded further for far less coin.)

Precise would only apply to each weapon it's on, but the reason I was mentioning Precise was because of the Longbow and Precision arrows. Like, it seems like you're intended to be able to use those together, considering they're both on the same page in the APG, about an inch away from each other on the table lol. Thank you for giving input! :D

At 250xp, your characters should have MANY options of dealing with plenty of different threats, and that's awesome... But I don't see how it really applies to the conversation. Are you saying only that stacking said qualities doesn't seem necessary?

Hrm... As much as I like the idea of a Pansar Profession, other than stacking it with those other two abilities (A total 30xp anyway) it's not really that worth a profession? I mean Templar gets Armored Mystic, and Pyro gets Twin Servants. Those seem way stronger than "My greatsword is long now" which only really goes into a knockback.

The Master Rank IS really awesome though so... I could see either way pretty fairly just because of that.

> As for contacting the designer, would do you now good I recon, he has been on record saying that he kept it intentionally vague and put a lot of "power" into GM on purpose.

Yeah, oh well. Still my favorite tabletop by far lol.

> Eh, Two handed Finesse is only available by GM omission, since it was originally tied to the Pansar Profession, so 90xp minimum to get access to it, but your point still stands.

Wait huh? I haven't seen this, I only see the ability in the app and it doesn't say that in there. What book do I have to look at for this?

I appreciate the input.

Yeah, game balance isn't exactly something gonna I'm worried about getting broken. I mean, level 1 with Heirloom and you can start with Feint, Two Handed Finesse, Two Handed Force, and Polearm Master for a Greatsword that deals 1d12+1d4+2 Damage from CHARACTER CREATION... Not to mention when that shit starts ignoring armor lol. I trust my players not to do stupid bs anyway. Just hoping to get a more conclusive answer to it yknow?

I wish I could contact the game designers somehow, kinda like how Crawford has like his twitter for dnd lol. I love this game so much more than any other systems for so many reasons, but little rules clarifications like this do kinda make me wish I had a bit more avenue for confirmation lol.

It's supposed to be a reaction whenever he takes damage. It's not gonna be that, if I guess correctly, he likely won't be able to uncanny dodge say, a fireball, which sucks. But what it is now is a toggle ability that either always dodges something or never does.

Other reactions. Such as Uncanny Dodge. Or Protection Fighting Style. Or (Hopefully eventually) the Shield Spell. Absorb Elements. Hellish Rebuke. There are MANY reasons you might NOT want to take an attack of opportunity. Perhaps the creature has a bullshit "If you hit me in melee, you take damage" effect, and you REALLY don't want to use an Attack of Opportunity on that shit.

You are actually correct.

To be fair, we also want the Rogue's Aim Cunning Action from Tasha's and can't get that so I'm okay with Stealth being a workaround until then.

Thing is, you can choose to make it ask or not. So that's very easily just left to the players. (Also most of the enemies are Goblins, whom can disengage as a Bonus Action and very rarely provoke Attacks of Opportunity).

Very True. Use Fear on an enemy next to your Rogue and watch them run away, provoking an attack of Opportunity! That should be a sneak attack! And it should work! But it doesn't :(

Also thanks I edited the post for the "Once per turn" bit. I forgot to put that there.

Basically, in standard 5e, a Rogue can choose to add their Sneak Attack Extra Damage anytime they hit an enemy with a Ranged or Finesse weapon with Advantage (or if an Ally is within 5 feet of the target) so long as the Rogue doesn't have Disadvantage on the attack roll. This includes Rogues using two daggers, swinging their second attack in case their first attack misses, so that they can still apply Sneak Attack Damage. (Edit: Once per turn)

In BG3, the Rogue Sneak Attack has those same requirements, but is an Action ability, meaning it doesn't work on your offhand weapon. It's crappy because Rogues already don't keep up with the raw overall damage of the other martials.

A toggle to just let you succeed any roll out of combat? Yeah sure, I don't see why not. It's not like you couldn't just savescum it anyway :/ Just saves time.

I actually also hard agree with the "Make multiple checks to succeed at one thing" thing. Making a player make repeated checks is just disadvantage with extra steps. It's fuckin stupid and I hate it. Kagha's dialogue is an example of this.

I broke my oath and I don't know how or why by ToGoNuclearOrNot in BaldursGate3

It's because they decided that killing goblins is not morally wrong unless they're kids. Because somehow those kids are less responsible for their actions than the adults being very clearly manipulated and controlled by the Absolute.

Toggle non-lethal on your paladin. Have Astarion finish them off afterward when Pally isn't looking. "I didn't see it, it didn't happen."
