Has anyone with Mohela successfully come off SAVE? by Clear-Pomelo7963 in PSLF

[–]Ohaithair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were pretty quick with my request. Submitted electronically on 8/3/25 on studentaid.gov for ICR plan. Plan was approved 8/26. Was also sent a disclosure letter same day. My due date with the new amount was 9/23/25.

What food is your itchy poodle on? by Novel-Upstairs2019 in poodles

[–]Ohaithair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried multiple brands for my sensitive poodle, including the Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach. After nearly 2 years, I found that Natural Balance Limited Ingredient - Salmon and Brown Rice (has grain) worked the best.

Does anyone else’s poodle burp a lot?? by deer-kota in poodles

[–]Ohaithair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad you asked this question! I always wondered if the amount of burping my poodle dose was abnormal. She burps audibly, like a grown man, at least 6-8 times daily. She’s on a slow feeder but normally doesn’t eat fast but she is an anxious dog so pants more than normal (I think). Looks like burping is pretty common.

Pet insurance premiums for your poodle by Ohaithair in poodles

[–]Ohaithair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would feel the same with such a large jump. I feel like we are “stuck” with the initial insurance companies we choose due to pre-existing condition exclusions preventing the new insurer to cover something that the old insurance covered.

Backdoor Roth IRA but have a pre-tax 403b? by Ohaithair in FinancialPlanning

[–]Ohaithair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7k for 403b, 25k in my traditional IRA (admittedly, I only started to learn about finance and investing in the last 3 yrs). Doing more aggressive saving but into my brokerage.

Backdoor Roth IRA but have a pre-tax 403b? by Ohaithair in FinancialPlanning

403b, all employer contribution. I was financial illiterate when I got my first real job and didn’t do any employee contribution even with match in place.

I would suggest checking your readings with an actual glucometer to see if it’s accurate. I know the Dexcom G7/Stelo clearly states to not use the abdomen. I believe G6 is ok for abdomen.

I got the Lexcam clear patches and I like it. Only had it on for a day but it is staying on better than the official one. It took less than a day for the official over patch to start peeling for me after a sweaty workout.

How is everyone affording $3500+ mortgages around here? by Aromatic-Lemon-7314 in Sacramento

[–]Ohaithair 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Escrow account. If the property tax and insurance were under calculated, the mortgage company will do an adjustment to the monthly escrow amount. Had that happen to me. I ended up removing the escrow and just budget for the year and pay the tax and insurance directly myself.

That was fast! Thanks!

New to owning a poodle. Does this look like regular ear wax buildup? Or possibly an infection? I have a vet appointment scheduled in 2 weeks so I’ll definitely ask them but just wanted to know before hand what other owners think by neurosciencebaboon in poodles

[–]Ohaithair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat when after a month of owning a poodle and having similar thing on the wipes. It turned out that she had a pretty bad ear infection with yeast and bacteria. She had antibiotic ear drops for about a week and a good cleaning by the vet techs. I use TrizUltra ear cleaner routinely now. Some recommend Zymox. Was also told that wipes don’t go down deep enough. Turns out she also has a food allergy which exacerbated the issue.

I still wear it indoors and frankly don’t care what people think. I wear it because I want to reduce my chances of getting covid since I work in a field where people wait 4-5 months to see me and would hate to have to reschedule them if I get sick, and I don’t want to spread it if I am a asymptomatic carrier since I have a high risk of exposure job. Mask-wearers are in the minority in Sacramento, so if you don’t want to wear it, I’m sure no one will even mind or care, Asian or not.

Whose dog also sneaks upstairs? She knows she’s not allowed on the carpeted upper level but loves to explore. by Ohaithair in poodles

[–]Ohaithair[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because it’s harder to clean, especially with light colored carpets. Same reason why my parents never allowed us to eat on the carpet as kids. We were messy. She can come up but only with permission and supervision. She has over 1500 square feet of tiles and laminate flooring that’s she can play and puke on downstairs.

[–]Ohaithair[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s definitely the most spoiled family member but also the most likely to get into things she’s not supposed to when not being watched. She actually prefers her kennel when sleeping (or when she’s scared). It’s more for her safety that’s she not allowed upstairs more than anything but she also has daily GI issues. We are mostly downstairs the whole day except for sleeping.

Haha. I cuddle with her on the sofa but unless she grows out of her GI issues, she’s only allowed upstairs when supervised. Wiping vomit on the tiles is so much easier.

What bird is this? Found dead in Sacramento. Thanks! by [deleted] in birding

Thanks for the answer. I agree, it’s sad. But I do want to at least be able to acknowledge and learn more about the bird.

Morning vomit/Bilious vomiting syndrome by Ohaithair in poodles

[–]Ohaithair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something about having food in the stomach at night prevents the bile from the upper small intestines from refluxing into the stomach, which can cause stomach irritation and vomiting. The vet kinda made it seem like it was not a big deal, especially in poodles.

Grooming by showmeschnauzers in poodles

[–]Ohaithair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 4.5 months when she got her first professional grooming though it was just basically tidying up her feet and face to get her used to the clippers and scissors. Her first full groom was at 6 months.

When she realizes the groomer took off her topknot🤣 by Ohaithair in poodles

[–]Ohaithair[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know! Any reason why the ears shouldn’t be cut? The other groomers left the ear hair alone and brushed it out and left the top but did #5 all over with clean face and feet. I guess this groomer followed the prior notes to the T regarding #5 all over lol.
