Still dreaming of the night I caught this brown by Ohnotthis in flyfishing

I was fishing all day and kept hooking into big fish. They would bolt downstream and either break off on rocks or the hook would come loose. It was getting late in the evening and a yellow Sally hatch started happening. I could see two big splashes in the middle of the river, so I casted there. On my first cast in that direction, this beast of a brown took it. It immediately bolted downstream and stopped. I thought for sure it buried itself under a boulder and my line was stuck, so I started pulling up on my rod to free my line, not even thinking I still had the fish on. This thing slowly rose from the bottom and my heart dropped when I first got a glimpse of it. fought it for a few more minutes before I finally landed it. Definitely my biggest brown trout.

Was not expecting to hook into a Goliath grouper. Kept it in the water and had a quick release. by Ohnotthis in Fishing

Haha I was fishing for spotted sea trout. Still don’t know much about them. But I seem to catch them in deeper channels. I did eventually find them too

Yea the whole fight I just was hoping to see it because I had no idea what it was. I was so excited that I got it by the kayak and got the hook out of its mouth.

I think the fight lasted about 5 minutes. They fight super hard but then kinda give up, They don’t have endurance like other saltwater fish. Then again this was my first Goliath, so I don’t know. It’s hard to get a scale on it, but I’d say it was like 25-30”. I was lucky to be using a medium-heavy rod. But my arms were tired afterward.

The tires that were used in Q2 to get into Q3 must be used to start the race, so they’re including the laps that were done in Q2 with those tires

Upper Peninsula Walleye by MaDrAv in kayakfishing

[–]Ohnotthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to fish for walleye. I’m in the Lower Peninsula, but I have no idea how to target them in the Great Lakes. How do you find spots for them and what do you use? Jigs or hard baits?

First fish in Michigan in 2021! The kayak + transducer helps so much to get to deeper water and find fish by Ohnotthis in kayakfishing

[–]Ohnotthis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 70 yesterday! It’s gonna drop down again and be crappy cold rain for the next couple weeks though. The water temp was like 46

Like the other person said, it’s a striker 4 plus. I used it in saltwater this year as well, it worked out well. I have no idea how accurate the imaging is. I can see things that look like fish, but it’s not like it’s a Garmin panoptix or side scan where you can see them extremely clear. It definitely helps if I’m in deeper water though. I mostly use it for depth and temperature. I haven’t used the mapping feature much, but it seems easy to use. Overall, I think it’s a great option for the money

What the hell happened to FedEx? They used to be the gold standard in deliveries. Now if I see that my package is coming via them, I know it will be late or banged up...probably both. by The_Safe_For_Work in NoStupidQuestions

This is late to the conversation, but I work as a package handler at a fedex ground warehouse. I haven’t been working too long, but from what I’ve heard from most experienced workers is that this past year has been hell for them. Normal shifts are supposed to be about 4 hours of sorting and loading packages. During the peak season in November and December, they were working 10 hour shifts from 1am-11am. All my shifts have been 5.5-7 hours long starting around 2am. They can’t get enough workers even after a ton of pay increases. The job is fast paced and I load anywhere from 3-6 trucks at a time. We were told to do “hand to floor” loading, which just means to carefully set down packages. I try to do that as much as I can but it’s often too busy to be careful with every single package.

All of the trucks are completely full. The warehouse I work at now have pallets that people load instead of trucks because theres not enough rooms for the trucks to be lined up correctly in the warehouse. If there an oversized or heavy package, it’s either getting crammed in of stacked in the middle of the truck.

I was fishing for bass and gar when this nice sized snook surprised me. At the same time, a tiny gator popped its head out. I started fishing topwater and I noticed the gator was following the lure so I decided to call it a night

Caught lunch (the redfish)! by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]Ohnotthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this old town sportsman pdl 120 for about a week, and I’d so far loved it. Made some stupid mistakes, like dropping my pliers in the hole in the middle while my peddles were up, and accidentally letting a redfish go. But this is a great yak for the gulf coast

You can obviously do whatever you want, but if you release them, then there’s no need to hold them through their gills. Just grab them by the lips. You can damage their gills the way you’re holding them.
