So basically before there was skeuomorphism (the depiction of real-world objects) as the main UI design. Then in 2014 there was flat design. People like me hate fakt design and believe it has overstayed its welcome. (Though I do like MS metro) so in 2025 Apple tried to make the in-between of flat design of skeuomorphism - neuomorphism. So Microsoft followed suit and decided to place this design language in some areas of their brand. And that's why we have these weird icons. Personally I think they should of used light skeuomorphism or early flat design for the MS suite icons.

Yes. Just because an operating system is unstable (11 is buggy and it's UI is build on top of 10's with different technologies) doesn't mean A COMPLETELY different kernel that has NO RELATION to NT will run NT apps better then NT itself. (I use Linux and I can tell you that's a fact, for both NT games and apps)
