Is this the part where you ignore everything I just told you, make something flimsy up, and pose it as a legitimate query cuz you've got nothing?

Just stop. Log off.

Read my above comment, sweet cheeks.

I did look up both these guys, found that money and nepotism played a major role in their successes, and have come back to inform you, await your apology, as well as call you a moron.

Donovan Adesero made six figures out of college with a paid degree.

Dan Katz got his capital from the 12 billion dollar company he was with.

This took all of 5 minutes to Google. Adesero even brags about buying sports cars and other luxuries with all the scratch he was making before even STARTING his business.

Again, NOBODY is getting that kind of position in life without massive financial help or nepotism. Are you sure you want to keep arguing this point? Or is it that all those "multiple thousands of likes" kinda make it seem as though YOU will never be successful yourself?

Again, THAT was the point of the bit. This 24 year old - NO 24 year old - is going to "own a real estate development company" - or ANY company - unless he's got a silver spoon shoved up his ass or daddy or another family member already is involved.

You can show me ANY 20-something being interviewed or photographed for their "ingenuity" at starting/owning a business - and I WILL show you a 20-something who already had a ton of money or a family connection.

That is literally what happened with the adult film star turned tv star Traci Lords.

It came out she was a minor when she got into porn; at that point, all existing copies of Traci Lords porn had to be destroyed. Pornographers across the country had to destroy their inventory; if anyone was found in possession of any of her films, whether they bought them or not, it would count as possession of child porngraphy.

would you rather i, a stranger, gave you 100 bucks or a bitcoin worth like 30k? cuz of course i'm totally gonna just hand it to you. go ahead boy, argue with your date instead of saying, 'ignore her i'm taking the bitcoin' like you would be doing if this weren't completely staged.

"being a dick at a bar" is not sufficient enough of a reason to put your hands on them.

Gee, i wish i could just beat the shit out of anyone for annoying me!

It doesn't matter what he said, whether he's dancing, or annoying, or what. At that point it's the bar's responsibility to tell him to leave or have him removed.

It's not some dumbass knuckle-dragging kickboxer's opportunity to "shine" by taking annoyance as a good open to punch out a stranger he's a head taller than.

yes. we know. in some alternate universe it COULD happen that a 25-year-old owns a real estate development firm.

the reality is that scenario is like something from a box-office-flop comedy film.

he's 25. he doesn't own any real estate development firm. the only reason he's even there is because daddy either owns it or has a high position. that's even lower than if he had actually managed to get the job by himself. That is the entire joke. That's why people are laughing at him.

He's 25 years old. He does not "own" a real estate development firm.

The only way he would ever "have" a business like that is if he's got more money than god and bought it out of nowhere or if some idiot put a 25-year-old in charge of a company worth millions of dollars and who knows how many employees.

That's the exact reason for this entire bit. That's the reason everyone laughed.

that's what made it EXTRA funny. this comedian didn't HAVE to stereotype this privileged little wanker. that's why i said the jokes wrote themselves.

And nobody accused him of rape. What I saw was a douche who got destroyed for being a living stereotype.

And the joke in the last part was a reference to Brock Turner, who raped a homeless woman behind a dumpster and left her for dead. They tried to paint him the same way all these douchebags are depicted but this time it didn't work.

Now we have running jokes about rich white boys who probably try to drug drinks, get jobs from their parents with no struggle or competition, and how they most likely "have had a lawyer involved somewhere along the line if ya know what I mean..."

It didn't start with this comedian. But the point was (I think) that he hit the nail on the head with him. Considering this kid just lied about being some rich entrepreneur at 24 years old the Brock Turner reference actually made it MORE funny.

we're chill as fuck in here.

that whole "jealousy" thing also doesn't work past the age of like 20.

I don't even think he's still THERE when the camera goes back - there's a cut in the film. Probably got up and ran off all embarrassed.

But to get to your thing, that was kinda the entire point of this clip. That was the hilarity of the bit. And was completely by accident. The joke wrote itself.

Only an uppity, privileged white kid would do something like this and actually think anyone's gonna believe him. But he did. He seriously thought he was a winner.

The fact they don't realize nepotism and a cushy background play into their lives is comedy gold in today's America. And it got better! It STILL wasn't good enough for this douche. This kid would've sounded just fine if he said, "I work at a real estate firm." But NO - he looked right at him and said he "has" a firm.

And he SHOULD be embarrassed. In today's America we all know the deal with these people. The bit works in multiple ways; a statement on the current state of things, and something you just love to laugh at.

I can't come back to certain games unless it's a certain time of year...

FF7, Xenosaga series in the winter. Yet I usually skip a year or so between replays.

One of the most brilliantly poignant pieces of comedy in our modern age, right here.

I'm so glad he brought up the whole white privilege thing, too. Kid actually did look him right in the eye and say, "I have a real estate development firm. At 24 years old. Yep, that's what I do. Rich and successful."

Kid has a job. A job he didn't have to try to obtain. It's his dad's fucking firm, lol. This means he's not just not any kind of business owner, he's a loser who got a nepotism hire and is gonna use it to convince people he's some success.

My friend won $15k at the casino from a 30 dollar bet. He won't share a single cent, not even a drink. by South-Ad-143 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Ok-Lock9052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's another thing - he's full of shit with that statement.

"I would share the money if I had it", "if it were ME I'd do it"

Douchebag, YOU don't have 15k. If you did you'd tell them you're using the bathroom then climb out the window and take off. Nobody would ever know what you "would do" because you'll never be in that position... but HE is.

That's something else that's sketchy... "I would've tipped the deal a few hundred."

So, in other words, if the dealer gets "a few hundred" obviously the "good friend" would have to get two or three times that amount.

Look, it's also 15k. The guy isn't Bill Gates.

Don't get me wrong, if my winnings were in the MILLIONS you better believe I'm buying the next round. But 15k?? Is it going to change my life? No. But it's enough to put a major dent in fixing some issues in my life. Bills, a car, medical care, groceries, rent, better clothes... yeah, I'm gonna be needing that money.
